2023 Kia EV6 GT 20k miles or 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance?

So Ive been looking at these two cars, there is a price difference of course. But I can afford the more expensive Tesla.

The only thing keeping me from getting the EV6 is those front seats, and so many complaints about them. The closest EV6 GT near me is over 200 miles away,so I cant test drive it.

But Carvana has a pretty blue one with 20k miles, 3 full years and 40k miles of bumper to bumper on it.

On the other hand the Tesla has like 12k miles, is the performance, but regular grey.

I dunno. Looking to save money.

Im a truck driver, so I drive about 50 miles to work once a week, leave the car parked for 5 days. Then 50 miles back home.

Anyone have good pros and cons?

The seat dilemma can be answered with a couple questions. Are you fat? Do you have well developed upper thighs? Are you over 6 foot. If yes to any of these, then the seats may not work for you.
Do a search on the GT seats and you'll see people mentioning the same things and tips on how to modify the seats.

Yeah I read a few posts about modifying the seats, cant I just get GT Line seats? Or something like that? I gotta say I really like the look of the GT.

Im 5'11, 240lbs or so, not particularly fat or thick thighed. I have big bones according to my doctor.

Being big boned could be a problem. All depends where the big bones are. If they are in your midsection then then "bones" won't allow you to be pushed into the back of the seat and you'll be floating against the bolsters. Same with big boned thighs. You can put the GT line seats in the GT, but I'm sure it's costly. You'll also need a new harness for the heated seats or figure out the pin configuration since the GT Line also has cooling.

the gt-line seats off car-part.com aren't expensive.it's whether you can tackle the job or find someone to do it.

I have a GT and I love the seats. I was very concerned about them when I bought it, but I guess they just fit me perfectly (and I'm the only one that regularly drives the car). I'm 5'9" 155# if that matters.

It does sound horrible. I've had big-boned friends as passengers and it looked awkward and they said they were uncomfortable not being able to slide back into the seat.

I just found a brand new 2023 ev6 gt 30 miles away. I liked it alot more then the 2025 tesla model 3 I drove this morning.

The styling is very cool, I just wonder now how good my charging network is.

Can the 2023s use tesla superchargers?

Best advice is to drive the 200 miles and sit on a car, then your know.

Just found one 30 miles away. The seats are tight but I can slide all the way back. At 40k I like that it has heated seats and wheel.

Biggest concern now is charging.

Can these 2023 ev6s use tesla supercharger or no?

I am 5'10" and 230lbs. I pulled the seat apart and bent the lower bolsters out a few inches. Then installed air lumbar support. Love the seats now.

6'4" 220lbs... Fit in nicely, but I do get a bit of a hot/tender spot at times on the outsides of my thighs so I will likely need to take a bit of time to adjust the bolsters. Seats sit you higher than you would think/want. I have a 34" inseam, so a longer torso, which does not help for the seating height.

6'2" and weighed 275lbs (255 now) when I bought the car and found the GT seats to be miserable at first, but after modifying the lower bolster metal loops as well as modifying the rear lower mounts, find them to be very comfortable now. I get good thigh support without the sore spots or having to reach for the steering wheel.

I think some people forget about how much body proportions outside of weight and height can affect comfort however. I have a pretty good arm length that is proportional to my 34" inseam, but if you have shorter arms relative to your legs, you will likely have to reach more or tilt the seatback more upright. Short legs and long arms likely help a lot with base comfort without the mods.

Also, I think the Model 3 is boring as hell looking without offering the extra hatchback utility the EV6 provides.

Drive both. Its 200mi. Go do it.

The only functional issue is that the Tesla will bleed charge like crazy over 5 days, while the GT will be within 2% of when you parked it.

Test drive both and then you'll know. IMHO the Tesla's suspension tuning is very stiff and harsh, and the cabin is nowhere near as quiet as the EV6.

Have you test driven the new M3P? Its just as quiet as my EV6 and the suspension is pretty soft due to adaptive suspension now. Its not really a track car as the suspension is much softer than before. Its also 500 lbs lighter than the EV6 GT and weight is pretty noticeable.

The M3P gets full adaptive dampers unlike the other variants. Also, a different rear motor and 20 inch fully forged wheels which only weigh about 23 lbs per wheel. They really did a nice job on the upgrade vs. the last version.

yeah,those tesla wheels are lite.wonder if they will hold up to track use or heavy road driving.if they hold up,might be a nice retro fit for the ev6.
