I've read more than a few comments made here and elsewhere that the paint on KIA's are too "soft". I don't exactly know what that means, but the end result is that the painted surfaces are quick to chip, scratch, and swirl. I do not know of a test that establishes a paint hardness value, but I know that most "better" detail shops will check a vehicle's paint thickness before they do a full paint correction. It would be very interesting to know what sort of thickness values the EV6 has on the front fenders, doors, and hood. If you are going in for a paint correction before doing a ceramic coating or film application, ask your detailer to check for a "as new" paint thickness check and post up what values they find.
