Frequently our highways are jammed. I can’t see any navigation option to avoid highways. Other navigation systems seem to have this option. Am I missing something or this just a fault of the system?

In the UK the built-in system constantly recalculates the route based on traffic info. On a recent trip it kept flipping between two routes as we approached a city - one on the motorway round the city and the other straight through
