Looks amazing - for like 10 seconds :) . But as long as it is completely clean black is a stunning color for most cars. But I don’t have the energy to keep it.

Amazing m8! (y) (y)

Thankfully I quite enjoy washing my own car. Washed it once already in the fortnight since arrival,..and it looks so amazing when clean that it was really rewarding.

Had black cars before, but none looked this stylish...or 'totally sick' according to my millenial neighbour.

Unless its gray, almost any color is going to show dirt. Red, black, blue, white... there is no escaping it. What I have is a Black on Black MB CLS 450 and an "all you can eat" contract with my local car wash. As far as waxing goes, that's something best done for ones self because they will never do it the way you want it done, so I do that every few months in my garage at home. This is a really good reason for the mud flap option being added, this car throws a LOT of debris onto the doors and its only a matter of time before some of those debris are going to damage the paint. Great looking car BTW. Its the color I have in mind as well. What does your interior look like?

Absolutely.
Interior - in the UK the base Air spec has black Vegan leather. The two higher specs have black Vegan suede with a cream leatherette trim.
It's a bit dark inside, could have done with a lighter roof liner, but the LED lighting does brighten things up (literally), and is a really smart contrast to all of the black...especially at night. It's certainly a lot more masculine looking than an Ioniq 5..a bit like gamer's den. There's even LEDs in the door pockets.
Good thing is the brightness (and colours on top spec) can be adjusted.

Exactly why I only wash my cars myself..2 bucket system with grit guards and Autoglym microfibres.
Actually tomorrow I'm applying Autoglym ceramic spray, never tried it before. If it doesn't rain that is..I have an uncanny ability to summon rain clouds simply by filling up the wash buckets! Wife thinks I'm a shaman.

The Mercedes CLS 450 I am driving now is black on black so I am pretty used to it as it is. Thanks for the pix, great looking car!

I’m doing the same, did you get it in the sale from Halfords?. Was £8 off. I have another spray as well. Having just done my first wash of the white EV6 the car kicks up a LOT of dirt, like to the point where the wheels spin it up to the windows. Got mud splats on windows nearly to the roof. Only went down a muddy country late for 5 mins. Need something like I had on my past Audi, the dirty just fell off it when it was washed. It’s supposed to have paint protection on it…. From the dealer.

Are you planning on applying the magma as well?

The instructions for the ceramic says to use magma - I’m unsure if this is valid with such a new car?

I have only ever known Autoglym Magma to be a wheel cleaner?, it's not that good though for the price, I can only presume this is to stop the ceramic coating coming off?. Autoglym Magma is pH Neutral anyway will be very safe to use but its expensive.

having been into detailing for some time, I took some advice from my local detailer a few years back and now I use Citrus power to clean both wheels/rubber & car as a pre wash solution, and then rinse, then use avalanche in the cannon/lance, leave, rinse, no need to even touch the car after that, makes very light work of the dirt from even 4 weeks in winter and then dry it if I can be bothered.

Not done this with the EV6 yet, weathers been soo bad so just done Cirtus > rinse > foam > rinse and thats that :). Autoglym seems to be a bit of a rip off really compared to other products online unless you get the Halfords sale, 3 for 2 or something?. Demon shine is £2 in Asda just now! thats stuff is awesome, cheap, easy shine every time, seems to strip protection off though, wax etc.

BTW, most Citrus car products are PH neutral, safe for wraps and ceramic coatings.

Yup!
Just washed the car and applied the ceramic this afternoon. Took about 2 hours in total.
It was a bit too overcast in North London to see the results, but was pretty easy to apply.
You’re right about the dirt..I haven’t been on any country lanes and I even have mud inside the door, on the very bottom door sill. Not sure how that got in there!

P.s. didn’t really see the need for magma, clay bars etc yet. The car is so new that it can’t have picked up many contaminants yet.

P.p.s..I’ve always thought about buying a lance with snowfoam. But from what I read it just loosens the dirt, it doesn’t actually clean much.I know it probably gives a deeper clean and then means less manual effort with the wash mitt, but it kinda seems an extra stage that’s not really necessary…unless anyone can convince me otherwise?

This seems to have turned into a car cleaning thread 😂
