Carwash Mode

I see that the 2025 EV6 has a carwash mode, that, among other things, folds the mirrors, shuts off the automatic wipers, retracts the door handles, closes the windows, locks the charging port and disables the auto-hold. Apparently, all you have to do is put the car in neutral, and you're good to go. Would be nice if our pre-2025 EV6s had this (I much prefer washing the car myself, but for convenience, like when I'm out of town with a lot of accumulated road bugs and dirt.) Think there's any chance of a software update which would include this?

Seems to me @dmdrabin made it pretty clear what else would be needed. If you've been driving, things like retracting the door handles and closing the windows (maybe) wouldn't be needed, the car would already be configured appropriately. But the owner's manual says to fold the mirrors, and of course the automatic car washes very much needs for autohold to be off.

The OP also mentions locking the charging port; I don't know what that would be. My charging port doesn't lock as far as I know. If the car is locked, it won't open with a press (I think), but there's no physical lock on it.

It's not a long list of things to prep for the carwash, but it's not just "neutral and wipers off". I'd rather Kia work on things like redesigning the ICCU so it doesn't break, but I'm not going to complain if they add quality-of-life things like making it simpler to get ready for the carwash.

A lot of people need to be reminded here that the first adopters (us) have been abandoned by Kia a long time ago. Kia is just worse of a company than other car companies when it comes to dropping support. Teslas from 10 years ago are still getting frequent substantive updates, where I've gotten four updates total (meaningless updates of course) since I bought the car two years ago.

Kia has already abandoned their ccNC cars, too, in terms of infotainment updates and fixing bugs and has moved onto their Android Automotive architecture that is supposed to come out with the new Genesis GV90 in Summer 2026.

If you want lasting support, don't buy an HMG car. It is what it is.
