charging speed

I have 2022 Kia EV6 and a ChargePoint level 2 charger in my garage. Over the years when charging at home I charged at about 8.2 KW. Recently my charging has been at 3.65 KW. It doesn’t seem to make any difference when I charge.
Is this an issue with my EV6 or an issue with the charging station?

There's a setting in the EV menu to limit the speed to a certain percentage of the max that the EVSE can offer. Maybe look there.

If nothing changed in the car, then it could be that somehow your charger got configured to put out a max of 16A. I assume you can control it via an app or a webpage. Have you checked?

After double-checking the settings -- it's unlikely they changed without your knowledge, but it's all software, and all software has bugs, so always a good idea to check the low-hanging fruit first -- the problem I've seen reported here more than once is a faulty charge port overheating, usually because of poor electrical contact.

In some cases, it may just be a build up of dirt, and if you clean things up it will go back to working correctly. In other cases, it may require replacement of the port (which if I recall correctly is covered under the battery-electric 10-year/100K mile warranty), due to premature wear causing the problem.

I've had this exact thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. It went from around 8 (I throttle it down due to our ports overheating) to around 3 something kW. I took it to the dealer and they pulled a port overheating code. I then realized that I haven't cleaned the port in over a year. I took and air-cannon, isopropyl alcohol, and q-tips and went to work. It went back to "normal" speeds and I haven't had an issue since. There's definitely some resistance issues with our ports that result in L2 overheating, which causes the charging to be reduced or just quit. Now I've set a reminder on my phone to clean the port every couple of months.
