Hi everyone, I was promised delivery of my EV6 GT Line AWD in April but have now been contacted by the dealership that the car is now delayed until the latter part of June and his own statement is that there will probably be a further postponement of delivery.

Has anyone else also received this message? And does anyone have any further information on what this is due to?

I ordered my EV6 GT Plus AWD at 26/11/2021 and it's still not planned for production....

I talk with my dealer every month, even call countrywide dealership - they have no guarantee of terms and until it's planned for production (VIN assigned) they have no other feedback from Korea. From six EV6 ordered at the end of 2021/beginng of 2022 my dealer received one so far - and it was the most basic model ordered in April. All other (including mine) are not queued by the factory.

Factory make about 6000 cars per month (Kia EV6 Wholesale Shipments In October 2022: Roughly 6,500, article like this appears every month), and it's decreasing a little bit every month.

OMG!!! more than 1 year and still any news???

I think that the relation between units manufactured and the orders is completely overwhelmed at this point in any country...

As far as I know here in Spain the Kia spanish branch reserved arround 800 units for the whole 2022, however the de orders are arround 2000... Thus KIA needs to upgrade the production ASAP or I see every customer waiting 2 or 3 years to get their EV6.

I don't know nothing about quotes for Poland - I asked but they don't respond. I know that in contract my car initially had delivery date at the end of May 2022.

Russian invasion cause a lot of trouble worldwide, especially for Kia because they lost one of their suppliers on the Ukraine(related to automatic gears). Polish Kia have to cancel hundreds of orders because of it: Zamówiłeś Kię Ceed, ProCeed albo XCeed z automatem? Być może jej nie dostaniesz. Zamówienia są anulowane

But quotes for EV6 are quite small around the world:

For India this was 100 (hundred): Kia to launch EV6 this August but in limited volumes | Autocar India
For Australia 500 (5 hundred): Kia EV6 electric-car stock to triple next year

It was said that Nordic countries are not good markets for Kia because of its size. I don't agree with that. It's rather related to the climate (cold) and known EV6 problems with interior heating. I guess that in Finland is far more eco-enthusiastic and richer people than in Poland.

In case of Poland (38 million people) the problem is that our market is very risky, especially now when Russia invaded Ukraine (our neighbor). We also have Polish Złoty (PLN) instead of Euro. During this year dealer prices of this car increased over 20%, when currency goes weaker to Euro by over 5% as well. So I'm not surprised that cars ordered later are delivered faster (in case of my dealer - they produces the last one ordered). From June to October there was no possibility to order EV6 at all (it's unblocked when GT version was released and ready to order).

I'm afraid that Kia will cancel all long-lasting orders like Polish branch of Hyundai did with Ioniq 5 orders from 2021(they cancelled about 200 orders: Hyundai cancels orders for the Ioniq 5 model. A blow to Polish customers - SasaTimes, Hyundai anuluje zamówienia na model Ioniq 5. Cios dla polskich klientów)

Well, here in Spain the main problem is related with those customers who have ordered a GT line + premium pack (mine is one of them).... The rest of models (GTlines without pack, Air and GT) are being delivered in a period of arround 6 to 9 months since they were ordered. Also those old orders have being automaticaly upgraded to the My2023 without any aditional cost.

However those ioniq 5 canceled orders are a bit worrying.... I hope that they will not cancel any order!

I ordered EV6 Plus with all available extension sets (including Meridian audio system and heat pump, excluding sunroof). It's almost the same like GT Line. So I guess that rather equipment determines delays, not exact external version.

Why I choosed Plus version instead of GT Line? I want to have full black upholstery (without white endings) - I have 5 children and don't want to clean it up often. External look differs only in small details and I'm not focused on that. Additional factor was that at time I ordered it price of well equipped Plus version was below limits of government repay (about 10% of car value). GT-Line iexceed that limit for about few hundred Zlotys (100 EUR).

I agree with you. It is the equipment which is delaying the production due to the lack of some components. Specificaly we have rumours that the sunroof is the main problem.

And that make sense because the only models with sunroof here in spain are the GTline + pack premium as well as the GT, so the rest of the models/versions and packages doesn't include sunroof.

I previously mentioned that the GT was also being delivered, which may seem contradictory because it has sunroof. The point is that they have had just 7 orders in all Spain, so it was very easy to fill that gap, also we have to take into account that Kia gave priority to the GT model because it is the top one and it is more profitable than the rest.

Hi again!
Yesterday, after 482 days of waiting car was finally queued to production (not done yet and there is no VIN assigned so far). So probably delivery will be delayed for about a year(!?) -initially it was planned to be delivered at the end of May 2022.

You would think Kia can get more cars to Europe now after they have lost the federal tax credits in US and cars are sitting at the dealerships.

My EV6 GT-line was ordered Feb 1 2022 and is now on a ship to Sweden. Delivery expected approx first week of June. This means that time from order to delivery is now 15 months. The local dealer has lent me an identical car the last 6 months of my wait.

You're lucky that you have this car lent. My dealer has only one demonstration car (it's ordered like regular cars and it's not produced out of order, for some time they have no such car at all!). Fortunately it will be my second car for short-trips purpose(currently I'm using my VW Multivan for all purposes, and it costs a lot when I'm driving alone without family).

My EV6 Plus car is planned to produce after 15 months. I ordered it in Nov 26 2021. Dealer said that cars from Korea are delivered to Poland in about 2 months from production date(shipping time). So I hope it will delivered in late May or beginning of June.

What color did you order? Back then it was ”only” AWD if you choose GT Line so I guess it’s an AWD? Ordered my GT Line AWD in April 2022 and the car got delivered a couple of weeks ago. Build date is 16/12 and I saw another car at the ÅF I work at built 28/12 that was ordered after mine.

GT-Line is AWD in Sweden I have orderd it in Yacht blue .

Nu finns den ju även som RWD.
Intressant att du inte fått din bil än, ”vi” fick en blå GT Line i början av mars. Tror att det totalt var 10 EV6or som kom då, varav 6 var GT Line. Hoppas du snart får din bil!

Today after exactly 18 months from order my EV6 finally is delivered to the dealer. I will collect it next week.

I’m waiting already for nearly 1 year. Have fun what model did you ordered and colour ?

Sorry for late response, I've no time to respond earlier.

Today I was reviewing car if there is everything ok before buying it. And the only problem we found is little scratch on front bumper (1 cm long and width of single hair, probably done during washing the car).

It's basic version (Plus, not GT Line) AWD with all possible extensions packs possible to order at the end of 2021 (including HP, exluding sunroof). So there is no highway assist II (from current offer).

I choose that version to have black interior/seats (not possible in GT Line in Poland when ordered, I don't know how it's look like nowadays).
