well we just don’t know. This car came out a year ago (in Europe and South Korea). I doubt anyone’s driven 300,000km already even as a taxi or rideshare so you may need to come back in 1-2 years.

FWIW, Canada’s warranty is 8 years or 150,000km (and I believe the US is 10 years or 160,000km).

Heat (whether environmental or fast charging)will shorten life so minimize that as much as possible.

I've been doing a lot of city (non highway driving)...getting routinely over 5 mi/kWh...

 

You guys are driving it wrong. I routinely get 2.5 mi/kWh

 

I rarely crack 3 mi/kWh. Could be because on the interstate I'm usually doing close to 80 and I accelerate hard? I tried hypermiling for the first few weeks then I got over it.

 

These are SK Innovations batteries, right? My Niro EV 2019 with 25K+ miles on it, couple of long trips, and mostly home charging, was still 100% after 3 years of ownership. These batteries are going to last long after you sell them to the second owner. The question should be are you going to have this car after 7yrs, 8 yrs or in the US its warranty 10 yrs?

 

Yeah but if we want wider EV adoption, the second owner should have a good experience so all of my hybrids (and this EV now), will be taken care of so that the next owner doesn’t have to worry about warranty repairs or battery replacement (at least to the best of my abilities).

 

The packets inside the modules are SK. Not sure who builds the whole module assembly and supplying the BMS system.

 

yup. not sure why most forum answers are I don't care in xx years. we should care for the cars and some people will keep them past 10 years. it's better for everyone as long as it's not an inconvenience.

if there is no real extra effort, do it for the next guy and the resources of out shared planet.

We've got solar (rooftop) as well, 12 kWh. I install an L2 evse in the garage.

The electrons are free but it'll take about 9 years for the ROI. Still, not bad.
