EVjon...I wonder about this too. Now that Bjorn Nyland has shown that he can sleep in the EV6 in cold weather by putting the car in "utility" mode, I wonder if this mode would work for dogs too. Bjorn did not explain much about utility mode, how to set the temperature, whether you can leave the car and have it stay warm etc....does anyone understand it more fully and could possibly tell whether a "dog mode" can be achieved from utility mode?

I saw in an example with the pre-heat you can also set the duration, not sure how configurable it is and what max time would be.
Seen on the pre-heat (and summer pre-cold) reliability I would not leave my Pet in the car with the current SW stability..
I am awaiting my car, so no real-live experience yet with the app.

I believe utility mode simply powers the accessories from the main battery rather than the 12v battery. You would use that when leaving things on for an extended period (while not driving) so the 12v battery doesn't go flat. See here.

Maybe I have it wrong what Bjorn did to be able to sleep overnight in cold weather. It doesn't seem it would be a "pre-heat". Maybe someone who already has the car could figure this out?

Utility mode seems to work fine, everything is on, but I havn´t been able to lock the car from outside, only inside the car, so that´s a bad thing in my mind.

After watching the videos: Would it make more sense to just use the manual key to lock and unlock if the need to use utility mode and lock the doors?

Just thinking for those with Pets:
For using utility mode for A/C; same youtuber shows how to playback video probably can playback a video with animated video stating like TESLA for Pet is SAFE all good video?

Found this youtuber for a Kona, I assume the same logic applies for the EV6. If you want to keep your pet safe; use the utility mode apply AC or Heat and follow by locking all doors
then use the manual hard key in FOB.

Why do you have to use the utility mode for a pet. Just leave car on and it cannot drain the 12 volt battery and you keep the air on. I have a mach e while waiting for my gt line and I can just lock the car as normal but on my rav 4 prime I have to either use the manual key to lock/unlock or the method he showed thru the window. I leave my pets in a cage for a couple of hours sometime in our very remote area. One of the several reasons I am getting rid of the mach e is because it does not have a manual key so therefore you are at the electronic systems mercy if 12 v battery dies or some other failure occurs. With the key of the ev6 and least I could rescue my dogs or sit inside while waiting for the flat bed.

Because Utility Mode doesn't allow the car to be put in Drive so someone can't break in and drive away. Utility mode allows the fan to run and it uses the HV battery - basically it's as if the car is on but without the ability to take the car out of Park.

I am not sure but I think that I heard that if all was on and door was locked that you cannot get car out of park without keyfob but it may have been on the mach e forum I heard that. How long can you leave utility mode on if you left a pet in there for more than just a few minutes.

What @alansh42 said. It’ll stay on until the battery hits the “minimum battery threshold” that you set. A few minutes is definitely possible.
