Extra immobilisation security for EV6

Perhaps I’m a little paranoid but due to a spate of high end vehicle crime in the area I wonder if anyone can suggest a simple extra security measure to prevent the car from being started as I’m away on holiday. Low life have been breaking into homes, stealing the keys and then making an easy get away with the car. To prevent the house being turned over in an attempt to find keys I wonder if it’s better to make the keys less difficult to find but pull a fuse or something so it will hopefully leave the criminals somewhat confused and hopefully leave it for an easier option. Not too sure if pulling any control type fuse will affect error codes and subsequent operation when it is replaced.

I'd be worried if I had a GTL. Stupid thieves will give up at trying to figure out how to open the doors on my Wind.
😮 😂 😂 😂

Despite the door handles' fiddliness and initially cumbersome nature to open, it actually might be a security feature. You're less likely to get carjacked since the door is more difficult to open from the outside. Thieves don't see any door handles to grab so they move on to the next car.

Just tested the charge cable theory. It works. The car is in zombie mode when the cable is attached and locked, even at 100% battery, it’s locked. An extra layer of complexity for a robber 😆. So we now have a lot for someone to go through to take the EV6 from your driveway. They have to find the keys, get into your house, bypass any alarms and noise generated while getting inside, dodge any baseball bats you have to hand, work out how to start the car using the brake pedal and start button, and work out why the car isn’t moving because the charging cable is locked, work out how to unlock it using Kia Connect or charger app... they could ask you to do it all while your home alarm is going off at knifepoint for sure, these things happen. Steering wheel lock as a deterrent as well?. Stealing an EV is no straightforward task.

Dam, my theory is flawed about the changing cable… unlocking the car unlocks the cable lol. If it’s charging this won’t happen, at 100% it does.

I'm not sure, are there some options in the menus to change this behaviour?
I thought there was an option to keep things locked all the time, but it seems as soon as you unlock the doors, the charging cable unlocks as well. Looking for a setting to change this
