Feature you’d like to see on your EV6

In the hope that someone at Kia might read some of these forums I thought it might be an idea to pull together any features or additions you would like to see or feel would be useful additions to the EV6. Could be physical or software changes or additions. I am looking for positive ideas for improvements, not pleas for repairs to the existing issues covered elsewhere. To this end, please fee free to add yours below.

I will kick off the wish list with the option to allocate the internal alarm sensor deactivation to one of the programmable buttons for all of us that have dogs and want to avoid having to dive into three levels of menu to turn it off every time we have to lock the car in a supermarket car park.

There is currently the ability to link the ambient lighting to the drive mode. I would like the ability to link the Active Sound Design to the drive mode. For example, I personally would prefer it off normally, but be able to select one to be on during sport mode.

Built in dash camera in the US models which I've heard is available in the Korean models and a sentry mode like Teslas.

Auto-dimming side mirrors.... it's a feature I'm really going to miss.

Battery preheating options such as ,now , scheduled, navigation to a charger (tesla does this), while on home charger, include some control over battery target temps and info on battery heater kWhr/km range usage prediction when activated. Control over max charge KW to avoid battery overheat/motor power limited etc. (Mercedes does this). Lane assist off, stays off if driver sets off in his profile settings. Display battery max min temperature. Still waiting for opportunity to buy an actual car though. To serve the kind of driver who in an ICE likes a tacho and a temp gauge.

I'm surprised it doesn't have this. Does anyone know if EV6 has auto folding outside mirrors and ones that tilt down when the car is put in reverse so you can see the curb? My 2017 Sorento SX had these features. The mirror that tilts down is based on which side the mirror control switch is set to. I checked the pictures of the specs from the US Spec - FULL Trim Specifications released thread but I didn't any references to the outside mirrors.

Rear wiper. I'm not going to skip the car because it doesn't have it. But it would be nice, especially in cold climates where you can use a rear wiper to clear accumulated snow before you start driving.

Thanks for this @robby-d . The "if equipped" part concerns me. Please forgive my ignorance but I've never heard of this website. Why does it have the EV6 owner's manual?

In which case a fixed panoramic glass roof is not something you would like to see as a feature. But this is a thread about features that people would like to see, not ones they don't want to see

For me an opening sunroof is noisy, goes against the works of A/C, and in that regard and also in regard to drag, reduces range when opened.

V2G and V2H. I believe the platform is capable. Hyundai is already testing the V2G capability in Utrecht so it should be possible on the KIA. VW has announced V2G with their ID3/4. At the very least I would like a roadmap for planning purposes.

Even if promised on a trim line there's no guarantee in today's world of supply chain & microchip issues that the final feature will make it into your car. I would assume it will, but that in some markets there are some trims that don't include it.

As to the site URL, I've wondered the same thing myself, but the manual seems to be the real deal.

Absolutely shocked a $57k car doesn’t have auto-dimming side-view mirrors. I think I just assumed it would. Wow. I can’t remember last car I owned that didn’t have them and none cost even $50k.

Definitely would second that. It’s a big deal if you’ve had them to than not have them (I’ve had rental cars without them).

Thanks! I was trying to find a way to turn this off as with the cameras I can already see the curbs...

I'll second that for the UK. If Tesla can do it and the hardware is already available for the EV6, why is it not at least an option? With the cost of a good dashcam it would definitely be worth the cost and they can easily cover any liabilities by using the disclaimer ala Tesla "Note: It is your sole responsibility to consult and comply with all local regulations and property restrictions regarding the use of cameras." to avoid issues.

The EV6 has folding mirrors and they tilt down when reversing.
