FITCAMX Integrated Dash Cam Review in my EV6 - Looks OEM!

I installed the new FITCAMX Integrated Dash Cam in my EV6 and I have to say I'm a huge fan. It is good quality and the phone app works well, and it literally looks OEM. And it's well under $200 for the front 4K dash cam after my NOW 10% OFF promo code. This is one of my mods I'm most excited about.

UPDATE! I'm giving one away! Good luck 😀

Did you do a rolling stop, formerly known to me as a California stop, at ~11:58? 😂 Maybe it’s just the fantastic new camera. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂

That said this might be the dash cam that gets me to buy one. Good video and review. Thanks!

Hahaha yeah I don't typically stop alllllll the way.

Thanks! Yeah I'm a big fan of this dash cam.

Jeff, quick question. If we install the front and rear camera options, Does it impact the 12v battery by any means? Let's say during parking.

Hm ... great question about 12V battery. Does the camera draw any current when the car isn't running?

Looks amazing. Thanks.
Yeah it's pretty great. I love the oem feel.

It pulls power from the auto-dimming mirror, so it automatically turns off when the vehicle turns off. The only way it would impact the 12v is if you contacted them for the hardwiring kit and installed it that way. Then it would have parking mode and be pulling power when the car is off.
I installed one too since I loved the one I have in my RAV4 Prime.

Have you had issues with the recordings stopping before you turn off the EV6? I opened a support ticket with Fitcam and they sent me a new firmware release that I just upgraded to but now need to do some more test drives to see if the problem is resolved.

Oh nice I hadn't seen anyone with it yet. I haven't had that issue that I've seen, but to be honest I don't check it really often. Which firmware are you on?
@TechnicallyJeff Is there any controls on the camera itself? Like a button to lock in a recording if something happens in front of you?

There's a power button (to turn it off I guess if you want to) and a button to take a snapshot. That locks in the recording when you do that.

Thank you. That's helpful. I'll probably end up getting this camera. Did get the rear with it or just the front?

No problem. I just got the front personally.

Jeff- very cool. I guess this won't work with the GT Line package one since it didn't come with an autodimming mirror. Is that the case?

The GT-Line doesn't have an autodimming mirror in Canada? I think that's required.
Jeez Jeff. Every time you post a video these days it costs me money!

But seriously, thanks for this tip. I have been debating whether or not to add a dash cam and this makes it a no brainer.

The camera came with "MCX_YC03_53Z20230301 19:25:45" and they sent me "MC7053-5VZ20230324 14:46:44" which has resolved the issue with recordings ending early. However, the extension on the video files changed from MP4 to TS (transport stream) so I'm waiting to hear from them if that was expected (not a big deal, they still play fine in VLC).

Haha yeah I agree. For the price you can't really beat this, especially since it's such an OEM look.

Interesting. I'm on the first firmware listed. I'll have to ask them about the updated firmware.

Isn’t auto dimming mirror on all LR trims? Only the base SR RWD doesn’t have it.

That's what I thought.
