Okay, I'm an old diehard gearhead and since I got my driver's license back in 1965 I've owned quite a few of the hottest cars on the road at the time: I'll admit that it's a sickness. A sample: 1962 Impala SS 409, 1966 Mustang Hi-Po 289, 1967 GTO tri-power, 1969 Shelby GT500, 1996 Dodge Viper SRT/10, 1999 BMW Z3 M Roadster, 2001 Mustang Cobra, and 2007 Mustang GT. And what do all of these performance cars have in common? Not one of them can hustle from 0-60 quicker than my little 2022 EV6 FE AWD. Man, that blows my mind. Ain't technology grand?

Yours looks exactly like mine. Is it first edition like my 291/1500? I just drove a friend's Tesla today and no comparison with our EV6s. The car is just 5 years old and you can feel is not as well-put together. Did I mention I hated the lack of buttons everywhere? To each his own really applies to owning EVs.

Best part of this fun fact... Not a drop of oil in our ev6 or any other fluids except for the wipers. No transmission fluid, oil change, spark plugs, coolant, air filters. The list just goes on and on with ice cars
I will admit I miss the exhaust note of my E39 M5 dearly... what I don't miss is getting a check engine light every month that required me chasing down and fixing whatever issue it was presenting. I love working on cars and I'm a bit of a gearhead, but not when it's your DD.

Actually, we have reduction gear oil that Kia recommends checking or changing every 4 years or 30,000 miles. Other than that, apparently nothing.

We track about the same life time. My licence was 1966 with a Turbocharged 63 Covair Spyder. There were five BMW's in there over the years. The last two gas cars were an Audi SQ5 and a Mini Cooper S Roadster. I'm done with oil changes and smog checks - the tools are getting rusty ;). Now rolling with a Mach E GTPE and the Kia EV6 FE GTL.

When I test drove the Kia I said, "This is a BMW." I was right. The lead engineer was Albert Biermann from the BMW "M" Group.

I know you're excited about your new EV, but I do believe you're another victim of the EV torque, where you FEEL it's fast, but it's not.
Here's some real life experience with a Mustang, yes mine is the AWD, yes it's in Sport mode, and yes it's at 80%+ SOC.

No he did not get the jump, the GPS speed lags behind, you can see it still reads 93km/h after we were done. You can tell he didn't get the jump, my car squattered ever so slightly in the video at the same time as he accelerated.

And yes I know how to drive, feel free to click on my boring as channel where I have various videos of me doing stupid stuff.

BTW: Your reliable source might not be that reliable.

Did you even bother to read the original post? It referred only to 0-60 times, all of which were recorded by national publications and not by some guy with a Dragy on a country road. .Yes, I do know the difference between quick and fast. Some of the performance cars listed were faster in the quarter mile even though the EV6, with it's torque advantage, was faster 0-60. Your video didn't prove a thing. The late-model 5.0 Mustang is admittedly quicker than the EV6 AWD, both 0-60 and in the quarter.

Yes, I have a 2020 Mustang GT A10 and the Mustang is faster 0-60 and quarter mile, but my 2012 Mustang is not as quick. So, don't group in all Mustangs together. Anything older than a 18 GT is going to be a close race and anything before 2011 will be dusted by the GTL (this is comparing stock, not modified)

I look at it this way--the EV6 GTL is quick enough to get the jump on many if not most unsuspecting drivers in many if not most other ICE vehicles when launching from a stop but I am enough of a realist to know it ain't gonna walk away from say, a late-model Porsche 911 GTS Turbo or similar vehicle (especially when in the hands of a capable driver) that can do sub-3 second 0-60 times.
