GT is hard to justify with recent model3 discounts.

I've been shopping around for an EV6 GT, but although it looks much better than any Tesla (inside and out), it doesn't compare too favorably anymore now that the Model 3-performance is only $45k. On top of that the GT has quite bit less range too.

But I really don't want a model3. It's so ubiquitous , and build quality is a dice-roll. Maybe I just hold out for the Lotus Eletre.

Edit: it's only close to 45k with the $7500 US federal tax credit for those who qualify

That says $53,990 in your picture. It says it on the website too. The Model 3 Performance qualifies for the $7500 tax credit so its basically a $48k car if your under income cap. Crazy deal.

Eletre is huge (5m long). Nice though.

Lotus type 134 (baby brother of the Eletre) - when it comes out in 2024/5 - is expected to be Macan sized.

Or type 133 (2024) is more of a taycan competitor.

All likely to be £80K+ and therefore a fair bit more than M3P/MYP. Also China-built so unlikely to get any tax credit.

Still not the $45,000 he quoted. And what about income caps? Not everyone would qualify for the tax credit. What about the fact that the Model 3 is an Egg on wheels with an iPad as a dashboard. Tesla build quality also sucks. Other than that.....what a deal!! :rolleyes:

Everybody's situation will be different but if you want performance, hard to beat something that fast for $54k. Its an incredible deal for those that do qualify for the tax credit.

Ugliness disqualifies it's consideration. If price and performance were the only factors, I'll buy a go-cart.

That’s what the M3P is to me… a wickedly fast go cart. One of the lightest too.

I want a GT for mostly track use (lacks creature comforts as a daily driver) and was willing to pay $63K plus small markup because that’s more or less the price of the M3P but with the Tesla price cut….err… it’s thrown a wrench into my plans.

For a daily driver, I prefer the BMW i4 over the EV6 GT and M3P.

Or a Taycan. Both double the price of an EV6 GT and i4.

At $140K, I’d rather have a BMW iX M60 that would be very competitive with an EV6 GT. I call it a stupid overpowered school bus but it is a glorious machine.

If I'm spending that much, I'd rather just get a Plaid at $115k and just enjoy going plaid at every street light 😁

In the end, the Model 3 Performance is the wrong car to compare to anyway. The EV6 GT is more Model Y Performance competitor and right now, its much cheaper than the EV6 GT.

MYP is just over the $55k limit for the tax credit. Unless you can spec it with 7 seats for an extra $4k so then it’s about $60k pre credit and $53l post credit. So roughly $10k cheaper than EV6 GT assuming you’re close to MSRP which is probably a terrible assumption. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don’t believe the 7 seats are an option that can be added to the Performance model.

Yep, this pretty much sums up my view too. 😄

I just can't get past the absolutely horrid interior of the Tesla.
An iPad glued to the dash, with nearly everything operated by wading through menus on that. Worst... interior design... ever.
The original Model S had the screen beautifully integrated into the dash, but then Tesla bizarrely decided to go cheap and ugly.
Plus it seems every man and his dog has a Tesla these days. Can't drive to the shops without tripping over half a dozen of them.

On paper the M3P owns the EV6 GT though. Faster, lighter, better range.
For track work... well I don't think either car is well suited to grinding out lap after lap for terribly long, but in practice I'm imagining that the M3P might have the edge on tracks with lots of tight, low speed corners, while the EV6 GT has better acceleration higher up the dial and might well have the edge on faster circuits with more flowing corners.
Standing start the M3P wins, but aound a circuit they're both closely enough matched that driver talent will have a much bigger impact than car choice.

Both will do about 20 minutes before needing to charge anyway. :ROFLMAO:
I don’t really think the model 3 and the EV6 are in the same arena. If driving electric and saving money is the goal, model 3 all the way. The Ev6 cost more because it offers more. Vehicle to load feature alone is worth the expense.

Also, I have had my EV6 for close to 10 months. I’ve only seen 2 or 3 others on the road in that time.
