GT is hard to justify with recent model3 discounts.

I've been shopping around for an EV6 GT, but although it looks much better than any Tesla (inside and out), it doesn't compare too favorably anymore now that the Model 3-performance is only $45k. On top of that the GT has quite bit less range too.

But I really don't want a model3. It's so ubiquitous , and build quality is a dice-roll. Maybe I just hold out for the Lotus Eletre.

Edit: it's only close to 45k with the $7500 US federal tax credit for those who qualify

Not a sports car... looool
Kia has indeed stated its more GT oriented...hence the name...GT. the Hyundai Ioniq N will be the track focused sports car type product.
It’s a GT. Exactly what the name says and the way Albert Bierman describes it as.

It's not and was never MEANT to be a pure luxury car. You want pure Luxury get the GV60, they are very luxurious and opulent. But it is also not without its luxury features, hardly bereft of any luxury.
I like the GV60 but two things are holding me back - 1) Genesis won't allow GV60s to be serviced outside the states it is sold in so I'd have to flatbed it from FL to another state (see Genesis forums) and 2) In the Redline Review comparison.. it's a step down from the i4 M50 and I'd want something even nicer.

The GT fits the bill of a fun trackable car - without the GV60/i4 luxury (which is fine).

Reason #562 NOT to buy Tesla. Bluetooth TPMS sensors. When the rest of the world uses 315 or 433mhz tpms sensors, Tesla went bluetooth, must be to match up with the oversized Ipad they use for user interface.

I think the EV6 GT-Line AWD is more of a competitor to the EV6 GT than the Tesla Model 3.

Why are the bluetooth worse?
Why are the bluetooth worse?
Very few options for aftermarket replacement, pretty much forced to buy them from Tesla for whatever they feel like charging on that day. Also no ability to try and swap wheels to/from other vehicles. Just Tesla doing their own thing making things more complex rather than using an already standardized commodity item that has worked well for decades. I am shocked they did not design their own wheel bolt pattern and windshield wiper blade lengths that nobody else uses.

Tesla is the Apple Macintosh of the car industry, everything is theirs and proprietary and only they are allowed to work on it or provide parts, completely anti competition.

Dunno if anyone remembers the Subaru TV and print ad where every house on the block looked exactly the same with the exact same car in the driveway. That block in the ad is a mile from here and triggered petty building code changes here in town to bust up the styling in neighborhoods.

In spite, our block is starting to look that way with all the Teslas. We're the only EV6 and everyone asks about it. I'm still beside myself being able to charge at home off sunlight. The reason we're on the list for the new Denali EV.

Like I've mentioned in other posts when the EV6 shipment arrived at the dealer all the others went to Tesla owners trading them in. The Kia dealer doesn't resell the Teslas, they go off to a used EV car business.
As for Kia dealer selection we figure one in 10 is ethical. The unethethical are owned by Slumlord millionaires. Talking to the lot donkeys will give you a good indication if that is the case.

We cover vast distances driving. Range is everything and wager a GT will soon enough hit the showroom floor with a 100 KW battery(s) or larger. It's big big complaint. Their are a few things on the EV6 that could be lightened to help make up for the extra weight of the batteries.

Well, don't forget that Tesla was raising prices all year long last year, now they are just bringing them back where they used to be. Kia has only raised prices by $1,000 if I remember correctly. But they had some dealers adding markups due to high demand.
Don't get me wrong, I like the car manufacturers to compete for customers rather than buyers chasing dealers for a new car. Some people are getting carried around by Tesla price cuts while they forget how quickly Tesla was raising prices last year. The graph below is from Car Gurus website, they track car prices.

GTs are definitely in demand. The FL dealers I've pinged have sold them or are a customer's order... but what is super surprising is how badly the demand for Wind/GT-Line has fallen. Dealers are pinging me back asking if I want the lower trims (nope). There are a dozen plus Winds in central Florida available today at MSRP - and probably soon slightly under MSRP.

Wholesale Tesla prices have collapsed since July and honestly... I'm seeing the demand for EVs basically evaporate too.

I like all EVs, even that ridiculous but nicely styled new Mazda EV.
Don't sell Musk short.
Yeah he said screwball things and does screwball things but I don't doubt he'll keep Tesla out in front.

Starting to see Tesla owners using the EVGo and Electrify America stations located within sight of Tesla chargers.
That'll be a problem we don't need. Got enough EV charger congestion already.

Plus the Tesla chargers are appearing with 1777/SAE "nozzles." Dunno how that'll shake out. Crowded already.

Not sure where you are located, are you seeing the 1772 on Tesla chargers? I have heard rumors, but yet to hear it confirmed here in the US.

Are the Tesla folks you are seeing on ccs because Tesla chargers are full? Just proves opening superchargers is not the golden goose many think it is. Many prime spots the Tesla chargers are always full during any peak travel times.

The busiest chargers are the ones in the middle of a city where non home buyers need to charge on a regular basis. The ones that are on major highways are rarely full...I did the Thanksgiving trip from so-cal to nor-cal and the chargers were mainly 1/3rd full. Of course a lot of these highway ones had like 50 Superchargers running at 250kw so plenty of charge points. I've used CCS and Superchargers...Tesla's solutions are 1000x better.
I thought the feuds and drama and out foxing each other and cutting each other off was probably unusual but we’ve seen it several times at the Baker Ca Tesla chargers next to the EA’s.

Several YouTube channels have experienced the same.

Some talk of a virtual cue on the Tesla app may be forthcoming if not already.

Probably why we see Teslas at the EA’s chargers in peace, drama free.

With the interest rates raising much demand will evaporate. $50-60K is still a lot of money to pay for a car. The gas prices also came down a little and is hard to justify an EV. Plenty of reasons for demand to dwindle.

Ohh just wait, they will bring their drama to EA network too. Just like when people move from an area they lived in because "it went bad" and then they make the same choices in the new place and turn it into what they left..

Lower trim buyers are all broke AF right now. Car sales on anything under 60k will be absolutely terrible across the board until 2024 at the earliest.

In Canada, the V3 SuC are 3.7x more expensive than Electrify Canada ($2.15/min vs 57¢/min) above 180kW.

Even at 60-100kW, you’re above EC’s pricing. You have to be charging below 60kW to beat EC’s pricing. So SuC here is expensive so we’re seeing a lot more Tesla owners on CCS chargers because of it.
