Not to put a damper on things, but both your dealers are being unrealistic if you've ordered a GTLS model, these are taking longer than Air, GTL and even GT models and you will find the majority of inbounds are for orders delivered in Jan and Feb 2022 and they are likely to receive their cars late April or early May.
The average time for a GTLS is 12 to 14 months from order to delivery and I ordered in March 2022 and was told March to June 2023 when ordering and alas I am yet to get a build date, if I get a build date in early April I may just have it by June, but currently unlikely, especially with the EV9 due to start rolling off the production line using even more semiconductors.
Still wish you all the best for a speedy delivery.

The problem I have is the longer I wait iam thinking about canceling the more I read about charging problems on long trips and the general problems with the car the only good point I’ll keep the BMW for a back up is it too soon to go for a EV

I understand your doubts and indecision, I think you have to be careful of too much bias towards complaints on forums, usually forums are busy places in the era of new designs, technology and models and the majority of people are either complaining or trying to find out as much differing opinions and details so they can make a more accurate decision, so there are lots of questions and many many differing opinions.
There have been many frustrated by long lead times and people blaming both Kia and dealers, some fair but a lot needs to be put into context.

Firstly there are always delays and unforseen problems with any new product and putting this in the midsts of a Pandemic, Brexit, Ukraine conflict, Global supply issues (primarily semiconductors and battery components), fuel/energy crisis and Global cost of living impacts and also to a small part government unrest in budget terms of ongoing EV charges has had a huge impact on production, dealers and customers, the customer has had poor advise on times and feedback from dealers and Kia have made matters worse by radio silence since launch.

Secondly, some who ordered in advance to receive the car first are complaining when not everything goes flawlessly, but that is the same with all new technologies and products and they need to put that also into their own decision making, that is very normal with all new adoptions, the car has had a few initial flaws, but in the scheme of things is very reliable compared to some of the competition and is leading the way in many areas.

Thirdly and this is where decisions become tough, yes the car is great and popular, but there will always be more later and different eye catching models with more and more technology, but will prices climb and climb or drop? will more and more cheaper tech filled options appear on the UK market? Will the next manufacturing year come with more updated and fixed faults from earlier years on manufacturing and what will the government do to help or hinder EVs in the UK

My conclusion is, the ev6 won awards worldwide and has many happy and satisfied customers, I deliberately waited so I knew I wouldn't end up with a car delivered in the first 12 months of UK release, to help inform me better of customer options and fixes for any early bugs and I am still happy to have placed an order and will look forward to receiving the car later this year and hopefully in the next few months as it's been a year now. Yes there is a lot of promising new designs and models coming from different manufacturers, but you will always be waiting if you constantly look towards the future.
just my thoughts so please don't be offended and everyone's decisions will be to suit them..
good luck in your choices. Ian
