I am at the point where I am close to needing new tires. My original kumho crugen hp71 235/55 R19 101H have 33,500 miles on them at this point. I have read some different write ups on different tires but just don’t want to spend a grand and be disappointed. Has anyone replaced their tires and happy with what they have? I would like a tire that I could get more than a year from them. I do not drive in sport mode often nor do I drag race either. I need a tire that reduces road noise, good in wet conditions and gives me the best range. I don’t need for snow as we don’t get much here in NC and if we do I will take my other car. appreciate any help.
I have almost 30k on my tires and they don’t even look like they are worn maybe you have been running low tire pressure

Our FE came with the Continental Crosscontact 20 inch tire. 480 A A.
Supposedly these have a foam sound deading liner in them.
They are ok, not real quiet.
I always prefer Michelin, however I have Pirelli P Zero on myLincoln Navigator and far superior to OEM Hankook in ride, handling and noise.
I had Michelin LTX on my Chevy Suburban. It is a light truck tire and I would look for a tire designed for more cornering traction for a very low vehicle like EV6. Michelin has other options.

Was leaning to the Crossclimate2 but have read and heard from my mechanic that they are bad in wet weather. I believe I am gonna go with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S.
@Say Watt, no change in mileage from your OEM?
I replaced the original Continental Cross Contact RX at around 9,000 miles. They were okay but had an annoying flat spot for the first 15 minutes of driving. I'm an outdoor/wildlife photographer so I also needed at tire that could handle crappy gravel roads. I worked with a good tire professional at America's Tires and we settled on the Michelin Defender. It was the #1 customer rated Highway M/S tire from Tire Rack but it has "truck tire" sidewalls so it can take a little "off-road" abuse. Not rock climbing but more abuse than stock, soccer-mom tires. I have 9,000 miles on these tires now and they are the best all around tires I ever purchased. They are civilised on the highway and worry-free on bad roads. 70,000 mile warranty. Two major 3,500 mile road trips and the range has not decreased. I could say "better" but it may only be a couple percent.

If my driving was strictly limited to pavement - and I wanted a bit more "performance" - I may have researched a different tire.

Michelin Defender LTX M/S...
The best I've seen on this "new and promising" tire is a promise to test it "soon."

Michelin has demonstrated a broad portfolio of tire technologies. The question is which trade-offs are embodied in the Defender, and how they match a customer's needs. I'll be in the market next Fall; hope we have some test data by then!

As to CC2 wet performance, they are not the best in the wet, they are temperature invariant. Same traction levels at 90F as at 35F, with excellent snow performance going lower. You can see the kind of trade-off I'm taking about in the UE CC2, which has shorter life but benchmark RR compared with the US tire.

Where does Defender fit? Subjective reports are positive, but I like data....

what is the difference between michelin defender ltx and defender 2
Here is a link for some info...

Since the LTX is a "truck tire" by classification, the stiffer sidewall provides better "off road" specs and may contribute to to the reasonable range due to less flex. The Defender 2 does look like a newer good option.

Range was not an issue with the Defender LTX and the "2" is pushing "fuel efficiency" which means stiffer sidewalls and harder compound which equals low rolling resistance. Range suffers with "sticky" performance tires.

When I need tires, I will go with the CrossClimate 2, however, if the Pirelli P Zero AS Elect gets tires in the 20" size for our wheels, I will probably go with those. I am about to swap out the OEM MX4 on the Tesla 3 for the Pirelli. I will gladly give up some of the stickiness and M+S of the CC2 for the quiet and range of the PZeroE.
My C40 came with the VOL ELECT P Zero's. I switched to PSAS4 at about 800 miles. I noted that my range changed less than 1% of battery life over my 80mi commute, measured in similar conditions.
