Yes Kuranda is definitely a tree change (maybe not a cool change though!) And the regen down should be good, not so good coming back up though, my Outlander averages around 50kwh/100k going up, will be interesting to see what the EV6 does when I finally get behind the wheel !

That's good news Steyr ! Hopefully it'll be a bit quicker than that once the quarantine dramas have been sorted out 😀👍

Up in FNQ we have little to no public charging, but I'll charge AC level 1 every day, so unless I take a road trip which I have another car for, I don't think it'll be a big drama for me hopefully 🙂

Sadly, I fear the growth in EVs is outsripping the growth in charging infrastructure, so the availability and reliability of public fast chargers will probably get worse before it gets better.

I fear you're right but there are a few things which could be improved rapidly and might benefit from a little legislative input.
There are several different brand EV chargers on different networks in my vicinity - all use a different app despite all the hardware having Plug&Charge
Of course as Tesla opens their charging infrastructure they support their own standard!
It's just possible that with our infancy in the EV world we might be in a better position to not make the same mistakes as everyone else.

Oh! I just got told that my car has been shipped and "should" (might?) be here late April. That's a sudden change from the late June dealer ETA that I was told last week!

Anyway, I'm curious if the total cost my dealer wants to charge me aligns with what others are paying?
It seems they're charging me approx $100,600 for the car, plus the expected $500-ish for SWP paint, plus $190 floor mats, plus the assorted admin/rego/inspection fees, stamp duty, LCT, and finally a $3000 dealer delivery fee, for a grand total (including GST and all ORCs) of $116,000.

The $100,600 for the car is above RRP, though I note that's only the RRP touted by journalists. Kia still has not "officially" launched the car yet, so maybe the official RRP may be higher? Or the dealer is just adding $1000?

Is $3000 typical for a dealer delivery fee, or is that a bit excessive?

I paid just under $2000 dealer delivery for my GT-line RWD in Sydney last June. But I believe that there is no hard and fast rule.

Weird. It seeems they've overcharged me on the base price, then undercharged me on LCT, then further undercharged me on stamp duty, and then for no reason rounded the grand total of all costs up to the nearest thousand (adding $300.20).
This the most messed up, incoherent invoice I've ever seen!

But... if I complain about the rounding up and try to haggle over the dealier delivery (for which I have no bartering power, because I'm not about to cancel my order, go to another dealer and wait a further 12 months for delivery!), then maybe they'll fix their LCT & stamp duty screw up and end up costing me more!

Lesson learned (this is the first time I have ever purchased a new car, so I'm a noob) - get all costs such as dealer delivery locked in at the time of ordering, and shop around for the best deal on that even if the vehicle RRP is still unknown.
