most happy people dont join forums to rave about their vehicles, whereas people do often join to complain. Just the way of the world with pretty much any product. Just remember that the people with issues on here are by far the minority of owners out there. I just read everything here so I know what to look out for when I eventually get my damn car.

I ride motorcycles and the Bike forums that I belong to are brag spots- everybody shows off their latest mods and upgrades. Occasionally someone will bring up a question like- has anyone had any problems with their elctra-glide and the adjustable ride system etc...BUT nothing like this constant whining.

Well the sheer number of bikes, bike owners, and the decades upon decades of people being into them are why those types of forums are more active. This car has been out, maybe a year? There's a small number of owners, even smaller amount of supply. And of the ones that people own, most of them aren't the "get on the internet and find a forum for you car" types.

There is always something that people will find wrong (in their view) with a car.

Some of the 'I gonna cancel my order cos ....' comments on here make me laugh though.

I have no complaints about my EV6, yes there are some bits that I wish they had done differently and yes I would of liked it more if it had a built in Coffee maker :ROFLMAO: , but it hasn't.

Still get the "This car is awesome" comments from my passengers and people staring at it as I drive along,

We do get threads about mods etc but as others have said as the car is so new the modified scene for the EV6 is not yet that well established and also the car is not in my opinion designed to be heavily modified, its just not that car as its already well styled, yes you can change the wheels, lower the suspension, change the colour but its not like you can do engine upgrades, bigger exhaust, tune the life out if it, EV cars are not designed in that way and especially not in the way people modify there bikes.

Yes forums tend to be filled with people who have issues looking for help, assistance and advice, that's the beauty of forums, they help people.

If the car was 100% faultless and people were just looking to say hay my car is great, well the forums would not be as big as they are.

People jump onboard, get help or offer it and stick around as were all a friendly bunch from around the world, we share stories good and bad and just enjoy the EV6 warts and all.

Also, I don't think the Kia EV6 is one that is gonna be modded significantly like you would a bike or an old 4x4. There is not a list of "build threads" where people are building this thing up. That's where you usually see people show off. I joined this forum mainly to find info about accessories & charging. Haven't complained yet!

OK, I don't like that the doors don't auto unlock when you walk up to the car. There's one :)

Motorcycles are toys, like snowmobiles and jet-skis. I'd expect owners to share their play time. That's why those forums are more fun; none of the vehicles are mission critical, so a lot of things don't matter. It's a "pastime," not a "job."

A new and different product will be viewed with skepticism, especially given the large amount of FUD from a politically split populace. This in addition to normal confusion and misinformation from lack of knowledge, or disinterest in it. Folks will talk about "Level 3" chargers, like they talk about unicorns, because they like that fantasy. It's really a warning...

That depends on the trim level.

In the UK, the door handles on the GT-Line S do pop out when you walk up to it.

I have the GTL AWD and my car does auto unlock on approach. Sometimes I am just taking out the trash and the car is within 5 feet of rolling pass it and beep beep, door handles pop out.. I walk on by and beep beep, door handles disappear.

Now, the car does not do walk away locking. Once you have it locked, the door handles do work on open.

I understand that a lot of people are unhappy but if you look a little deep, you will realize it is about a handful of issues (most of them are pissed about battery precon). I think it is a fantastic car and there are small gripes which can be easily dealt with or ignored. It all boils down to how much these few items matter. I don't see a lot of folks here saying they can't wait to get this car out of their hands and replace with something else.
Note: this is coming from a guy who is also unhappy about precon and also had an amp that has died. I still love the car

The problem with the EV6 is new and more new.

First EV is to market the strongest this year since fuel hit that national high level of $5.01 June 2022. California was at $7 plus a gallon. That drove the EV market to MSRP overpricing highs to start with that just piss off people. So the expectation starts to get really high when you fork out $70,000 USD on a $58,000 car. KIA dealer want premium, well you better deliver on premium service when the car has issues. AND THEY DONT.. so that is on the dealers and KIA corporate.

Then we are talking about a completely new platform that was designed in 2015 there about. 2015 was nothing like today with better electronics and batteries. However you cannot just put 2022 technology in a 2015 platform. The COVID of 2020 set back the world. Not just one industry, but all industries and the people in those industries. We will not recover from that even by 2025. That makes people mad.

People that are mad and frustrated have now learned that a voice is out there on the internet. All the sudden you can reach 12000 20000 50000 100000 1000000people in one viral video. If its the death of a person, a car, or a whole industry, it can happen over night now. Some it is good, alot it is bad.

People need results and answers in todays world on the spot. Car breaks down, fix it in 24 hours is the expectation. KIA is not there. GM and Ford have alot of practical application in this area. My brand new truck with 49 miles needed a part and it was overnighted and back to running in 36 hours. GM can do that. Requires alot of good people. Plan B was to even take the part from a brand new truck on the dealer lot if UPS did not deliver that part as I was told on OverNight Express.

Guys, my experience with KIA is so bad over all from a sales perspective. That dealership in Rockwall was dirty, the people were dress like they just got out of school or left home to go to a movie. Then the dealer was not much better in PA where I got the car. The dealership was clean, the sales people were dressed in nice business attire, but the quality of BS in the workmanship and deliver of the keys to me, that was really bad. You should have heard the SA trying to sell a car to the couple next to me. The story is too long to get the full picture of this SA talking. I thought I was at some hole in the wall used car sales floor area.

So EV has a long way to go to be the primary shopping experience we have today with bikes and ICE cars/trucks.

I am getting depressed reading all of the whining that is on this forum. Is there no 'happy EV6 owners- mine is till on order and now after an hour on this forum- i am thinking maybe I should lose my deposit and get out of the KIA market. IS NOBODY HAPPY WITH THEIR KIA EV6?
I love my EV6 even if it has it’s quirks. ( like all cars have) You won't have the Stereo or Pre conditioning issues with the newer EV6s. I really do wish people would stop staring at my car so much.

This PreConditioning Battery deal is out of control. I have never seen a advertisement on TV or a YouTube video that indicated .. buy 2022 today and get a upgrade to battery condition on the way to the juice pump. Show me a video where the EV6 was advertised as getting this 'feature' for a 2022 MY ..

If it is a big deal to you, go to the dealer and beg them and prove to the car was false advertised as battery conditioning and it is not happening on the 2022 model EV6 and you demand a fair market trade in value on a 2023 with this feature. Its that simple. Trade the car in. How many will do that trade in based on battery conditioning? Not me. I live in Texas. Not me I dont plan to own the car more than 2 years. Not me as I plan to buy the 2023 GT version anyway. So I am nobody for sure in the grand scheme of the USA of people with EV6 cars. I would say that the north states where the cold is just damn cold. It is going to effect charging no matter the battery is warmed over or not. Its just too cold up there.

I am on the DIY Solar forums and it is always talked about putting heat blankets on the LiFEPO4 batteries in the winter. Some do it, most do not. The batteries are rated for the same 10 years as most all these rechargeable batteries today with cycle times. Only takes a few people getting together to make a big deal out of nothing today. The EV6 came out in the winter in the UK. Did you really see alot of the UK owners having battery charging issues that could be at least dealt with and the car is still drivable? Canada winter is coming sooner than here. 4 weeks from now there got to be some EV6 experience in the snow and ice we can read about. With the primary release in the USA of the FE, not many in the cold states had a FE to post about the experience of snow and ice it seems. KIA most likely knew, lets release the FE in the southern states first where it is warmer and then in the northern states in March and April so it warms up.

The amp deal is 100% on Meridian and KIA. Now I see the safety issue of this with the alert tones and voice alerts muted and messed up. There should be a world wide recall on this issue and that amp replaced in all KIA and Hyundai that use that amp. Its amazing how many amps went out over the NAV infotainment upgrade. Sure glad I read all that on here about that and I have not upgraded any of my systems in the car, and I dont want to until next year. My amp works I guess OK. The bass is bad like all others that are working, but the rest of the system plays good music at 40-45 level.

Fair point.. This was not such a big issue until someone published the article indicating they will not fix it because it is too costly. That should not have been a factor if the hardware exists. Maybe Kia does do it or give people option to pay and get it like Tesla. One can only hope.. But this too shall pass in another year or so once people have gotten used to the new norm just like winter range.

Love my car, perfect for myself/family and our current situation. Kind of like a restaurant, 9/10 dissatisfied customers leave a review while 2/10 satisfied customers leave a review.
For what it’s worth this is my 1st EV and the price, warranty, and the actual product you receive was the perfect combo for me to take the plunge, and I haven’t looked back since👍

I had a serious issue with my car (faulty battery module) that took way longer than it should have to get in (3 months) and I STILL love the car. I was pretty disappointed with Kia corporate and the service department for horrible communication and over-promising and under delivering, but I would still buy the car again. This is my first EV and I still get the feeling every time I'm behind the wheel that it is unlike any car I've ever driven.
