I am getting depressed reading all of the whining that is on this forum. Is there no 'happy EV6 owners- mine is till on order and now after an hour on this forum- i am thinking maybe I should lose my deposit and get out of the KIA market. IS NOBODY HAPPY WITH THEIR KIA EV6?
Just to add in the UK Kia is a cheap brand so their traditional customer base had quite low expectations of service. People are coming out of premium brands into these so you have to adjust your expectations a little. No excuse for not fixing major problems of course.

Although the upside is the service is more friendly and old school in the UK at least. Had a minor software recall done yesterday. The staff were great needed to make some private calls whilst waiting, my sales guy sent me upstairs to the bosses office because he was out , never in a month of Sundays would you get that in the hospital like showrooms of BMW, Jag, Merc etc

I'm very happy with my EV6. I only replaced the subwoofer with a new $100 Rockwell active subwoofer and installed 3D Maxpider mats and a new mirror with Home link. I receive a lot of compliments and the car drives great. No problems so far. I would buy it again at MSRP like I did first time.
Was the subwoofer a plug and play switchover?

It is if you can get hold of the same connector on the cars original subwoofer which in the UK is an issue, I have tried, you could then disconnect and plug the new sub into the connector, plug the sub power into the 12 volt socket in the boot and away you go. I have had to splice mine into the original wiring loom at present as a temporary measure until the subwoofer connector is available in the UK, some in the US have managed to order one.

I am very happy with my EV6 and I have had none of the rattles, squeaks and hums reported here so far. I am approaching 8k miles and am looking forward to many more.
I think the purpose of fora like this is to report issues and use the collective knowledge of other owners to seek advise and find solutions, so I don't see it as whining - for the most part at least.

We purchased our EV6 in mid February and we are very happy to have our car! It is easy for my wife who has limited mobility to get in and out of it and it is very comfortable for both of us to drive around town and on long trips, such as trip from Phoenix to San Francisco! On these trips the cruise and drive assistance worked very nicely including Lange changes while on cruise control. I can’t tell if you should buy your EV6 but I would do it again!

Despite its flaws (What car doesn't have any?), I love my EV6. It's everything I want in an EV - long range, fast charging, good power.

It's not everything I expect of a car at this price point but compared to other EVs, it's good value. Plus, after driving hybrids for a while, I'm used to the "you're paying for the drivetrain" part of the equation. Sure I could've gotten really nice ICE or hybrid vehicles for the same price, but then, I'd be driving an ICE or hybrid. (just like 10 years ago where I could've bought a nice ICE car but bought a hybrid instead because I wanted that powertrain).

It's no different from someone wanting a more powerful engine with fewer options vs. someone going for the base engine but purchasing more creature comfort options for the same price. That said, I agree, Kia dealers will need training on how to deal with customers that are laying down this much money. They are different than someone looking for their first vehicle or a low cost option. My dealer was fantastic so I was fortunate but it was funny to see how the finance department wouldn't take a cheque for a downpayment yet my Toyota dealer didn't bat an eye when I did the same when I purchased my last Toyota.

I bought my EV6 at the beginning of June 2022 and I couldn't be happier with it. Some small things that "I wish it had" options, but I love the car and everything about it.

I ride motorcycles and the Bike forums that I belong to are brag spots- everybody shows off their latest mods and upgrades. Occasionally someone will bring up a question like- has anyone had any problems with their elctra-glide and the adjustable ride system etc...BUT nothing like this constant whining.
Back in the day when I owned Corvettes, I joined the forums for each of the different generation Vette that I was fortunate to own over a period of 20 years....the forums were also "brag spots" and great "how to do" advice was there as well. THIS forum as well other "new intro" car forums I have been part of are: 1. very helpful in learning ALL there is to know before you get yours AND, unfortunately, do tend to move to more to of "complaints and issues" as more and more of us get the car. Kinda the norm....

This is my fifth EV and I'm very happy with it. Might be behind them on tech (but we do get Carplay/Android Auto) but this car blows Tesla build quality out of the water.

I don't really see much in the way of complaints on this forum. Mostly questions and discussion. A bit of whining about things we knew about when we bought the car, but that's not really a complaint.

That guy with the Ioniq5 YouTube is pimping his sunglass holders. I am sure they would work in the EV6 also. However, if you have your own 3D printer, you can whip out something as simple as his design looked.
His is magnetic, and attaches to the side of the infotainment center, which I don't think we have on the EV6. The side of mine isn't metal, it's fabric.

Maybe you’re on the wrong forum. 🤣 Very tongue in cheek.

I see a lot of very happy people here, including myself. I love my EV6 and, knock on wood, am one of the many that have had no issues with mine, except the recalls and now my TPMS sensors aren’t reading correctly. I’m not complaining about it and wouldn’t mention it except to point out, yes, there are “things.”

Yes, many, maybe most, people post their grievances here. That’s what forums are about 90%.

So, again, sarcastically, lose your deposit and go to a company that makes flawless EVs. If you find one, let us all know.

I hope you keep your deposit and enjoy this wonderful EV.

The connector is proprietary and I could not find it. I reused the original connector and I spliced the wires and used heat shrink insolation and a soldering iron. I plugged the power on the 12V socket in the trunk. This way I can unplug it if I want to use the socket for something else.
The subwoofer turns on and off automatically with the car and it senses power on the speaker cables. I posted pictures on one of the subwoofer related treads on the forum.

You get it but I think people forget or don't know that the battery in these cars adds $15-20,000 to the cost of an equivalent ICE car. This is roughly a $35-40,000 car and at that price range it has excellent build quality and features. This cost increase does not even take into account the additional costs for 800V vs. 400V architecture which is tech only found on $80-200,000 cars (Porsche, Audi and Lucid).

The dealer I bought my EV6 from is 217 miles away and was fantastic. They are a high volume dealer and treated me like I was buying a vehicle at this price point. In about 3000 miles I will see what my local Kia dealer is like.

Get in line for a Tesla if you want all the highs of ownership with the depths of abandonment when you get t-boned or just waiting a year for delivery. My X is in the shop 9 months if the promised steering rack arrives by Thanksgiving. bought the Wind AWD because it just came off the truck. Only thing I miss are the electric doors. Everything else is just as good at half the price. Overjoyed!
glad you are enjoying your “non Tesla”…it such a full blown surprise of how good it really is!

Overall, I love the EV6, I think it's an amazing car. I have a few minor issues with mine. Part of me wonders if I'm just being overly sensitive. After taking delivery of my first EV6, I noticed dents that were obviously not my fault and happened during shipping. The dealer made it right, and swapped it for another new EV6. This second EV6 is almost perfect--my only complaint at the moment is the rattles. Am I just unlucky? or does this happen more often but most people don't complain about it? I have pinpointed 3 different locations of rattles. If I have the stereo going, it's less noticeable. I've been trying to just get used to it, as I'm afraid trying to get the dealer to fix it will just make things worse. I only have one car and can't afford to be without it for very long.

But again, it's an amazing car, and if I'm not hearing rattles, the car is very fun to drive.

I know it's early on, but I have no regrets, and would still buy the car again.

The only rattles I have had have come from the rear seat belt buckles when not fastened. I just tuck them between the seat cushion and the plastic side and that stops it.
