Kia Charge Pass messing EA charging?

I just got an ota update in my 2025 EV6. It stated that I now have plug and charge and can use the KIA app to enable. I updated the app by enrolling in KIA Charge Pass. This is supposed to work at EA and Tesla Superchargers. Will report back after testing both.
The rest of us early adopters with 2024's are feeling sad now... :(

Do any of you who are more familiar with the EV9 tech know if there is a technical reason that that 2024's won't get plug & charge or is this just marketing? Something like, the head unit hardware can't run the software that takes a public key certificate?

Just wondering if there is any hope that we'll eventually get that.

For the EV6 it's running on an older Gen5W infotainment unit which would require separate development than the ccNC unit. It's pretty clear they consider the Gen5W to be in maintenance mode and will probably not get any new features.
It appears that the EV9 has used the ccNC platform since the beginning (2024). There could be subtle hardware differences in more recent models (more memory, faster CPU) but the platform is the same and I can't imagine plug & charge uses much in the way of resources.

This may be a marketing decision or will just be released later for the 2024 model. We'll see... 🍿
