Without wishing to be rude........why would you buy a streamlined, energy saving car and stick a sail on top of itIt seems awfully quiet here...
Well, as we all know there are thousands of reasons for that. Of course you could get the wanted equipment there with a trailer, but that wastes energy even more. In any case, I have seen prom images where one loads e-bikes with the V2L of EV6 in the middle of nowhere, but that ain't so practical if you need another vehicle to get those bikes there in the first place.Without wishing to be rude........why would you buy a streamlined, energy saving car and stick a sail on top of it![]()
At least the Swedish spec sheet states that maximum roof load is 80kg for all versions. Some how it seems that there is no roof load accepted from Kia.. It was mentioned in some German spec but not in any official manual from Kia. Also Yakima is listing Ioniq5 in their products but not EV6. It could be possible that Ev6 is not applicable for roof racks at all.. Interesting to see if any roof rack manufactures are making those if Kia does not inform roof load or approve roof load.
Hi.. Do you have that spec some where? At least the Swedish spec sheet states that maximum roof load is 80kg for all versions.

Maybe, just maybe, once a year a family may wish to use one. Or maybe put a bike on top. Why wouldn’t it have roof bars available? Seems an omission from Kia.Without wishing to be rude........why would you buy a streamlined, energy saving car and stick a sail on top of it![]()
Any reply please? No one seems to know. Seems a big omission for a £45k car…I did send question to Yakima who does roof rack for Ioniq 5 that if they have any plans for EV6.. Let's see what is their reply.
I have also received confirmation that a roof rack will be available. The first deliveries of the car are taking place later this month in Norway and if roof racks are not possible they will have some serious trouble on there hands as "everyone" in Norway needs a option to carry skis on the roof. I beleive Thule and Yokohama are making. But since it is a brand new chassi and body without rails testing fitment and production takes time. So I dont think they will be available immediatly. I know there was a delay on the Thule for Ioniq 5 and I have only seen one I5 with a roof rack on Facebook. Another option will to bave a carrier on the tow hitch. That will be my plan B if the roof rack doesnt arrive in february.Any reply please? No one seems to know. Seems a big omission for a £45k car…
Agreed but I still think it’s a MAJOR oversight by Kia and Hyundai to omit roof rail or roof bar options. We certainly would have bought the EV6 but now have bought a brand new BMW. Shame.
