I've ordered exactly the same one - Kia EV6 GT-Line S AWD in Steel Matte Grey with Heat Pump.
I'm near Brighton so we have seagulls here too!

£500 deposit? My local dealer, Shelly Motors in Epsom wanted a £2000 'standard deposit'. How did you get away with £500?!Hi Everyone, I thought I would start up a thread specifically for UK-based subscribers.
I have recently ordered a Kia EV6 GT-Line S 4WD in Matt grey with Heat Pump. I had originally signified my interest by paying a £100 refundable deposit (returned last week direct from Kia). On the 4th May my dealership, Newbarn in Bognor Regis (great people to work with) took a £500 deposit and ordered my car.
As of today I have no delivery date (October 2021 has been mentioned). However the orders were well over-subscribed here in the UK so I am unsure how that will affect delivery, hopefully I will be near the front of the queue if it is based on ordering time.
I have yet to see any photographs of a grey EV6 GT-Line S (unless someone knows differently) and so have to rely on the scant written data available.
On delivery I will be asking the dealer to take the car to the local CeramicPro installer for them to clean and cover the car, glass, wheels and interior with their magic goo. Hopefully that will protect the car from Seagulls and sea spray!
Interested to hear from others who have ordered and how their experience has been to date, and what news they have been able to pick up.
Very much down to the dealer. “Standard” doesn’t always apply especially when we haven’t even seen the car let along drive it but many dealers are expecting the normal deposit.£500 deposit? My local dealer, Shelly Motors in Epsom wanted a £2000 'standard deposit'. How did you get away with £500?!
Ahhh. OK. In the end I cancelled since the dealer could not provide me with leasing costs. Shame. Possibly looks like a Mach E for me instead. We'll see after a test drive of both.Very much down to the dealer. “Standard” doesn’t always apply especially when we haven’t even seen the car let along drive it but many dealers are expecting the normal deposit.
I do not know GTechniq, but CeramicPro was the only product I looked at that specifically said they could treat matte paint finishes. Might be worth emailing GTechniq to ask.Good experiences so far... the dealer is very busy and a little slow on email responses but he's good. It will be good to see some UK cars in the flesh.
One question, @Robert on your paint treatment - have you discussed with the Matt Finish? I've always used GTechniq but I have no idea how their coatings will work with a Matt finish.
I have ordered Black as it was the only colour my wife liked... I do tech, she does colours. ;-)
I got charged £500 for my order as well, and the £100 I put down for pre-ordering was refunded at that point also.£500 deposit? My local dealer, Shelly Motors in Epsom wanted a £2000 'standard deposit'. How did you get away with £500?!
I ordered the exact same specification. I suspect this will be a very popular choice. So far so good in terms of ordering experience. Placed a reservation on the first day, paid my £100 and then waited. Chased the dealer (Kia Brentford) once orders opened (thanks to advice from the legend that is Wonky Donkey) and was asked for a £250 deposit. Within a few days the £100 was refunded. The sales rep then set up a monthly phone call to keep me updated and answer any questions I might think of.Hi Everyone, I thought I would start up a thread specifically for UK-based subscribers.

I have ben advised to use CeramicPro who claim to have a product specifically for matte paints i.e. one that keeps the paintwork looking matte. I was also advised to have the car go straight to them without any dealer preparation.I ordered the exact same specification. I suspect this will be a very popular choice. Now I am hoping that soon Kia will release a lot more details and interior styling photographs for the GT-Line S. I would be keen to know what advice people receive on ceramic coatings for the matt finish.
Roll on October.

Do share if you find any photographs of the GT-Line S and how it differs from what we have seen so far externally and internally. Do you have hard evidence of an October delivery? All I have heard are rumours?
Given the massive over-subscription (which of course could simply be Kia sales spin) for the EV6 in Europe and the UK I do wonder whether Kia will be able to ramp up production...Thanks Robert.
Re: October delivery, no concrete information other than what my dealer indicated, and Kia have in the past been fairly accurate with initial delivery quotas. A few familiar faces on this forum will have lived through the frustrations of getting confirmed dates about another car we placed deposits down on. That forum has now extended to 545 pages!! Hopefully Kia will be aware of this and be far more forthcoming.
Do you have a quote yet for the Ceramic Pro?
Good to know - I will ask my dealer if they are getting one and if so to add me to the list.Given the massive over-subscription (which of course could simply be Kia sales spin) for the EV6 in Europe and the UK I do wonder whether Kia will be able to ramp up production...
My dealer said they might be getting a demonstrator in July: I am on the list for a test drive!
Interesting that 1,000 people booked in April. If Kia stick to what you say we should be in the first batch. I read that they were starting to manufacture EV6s for those who ordered them in July, so sadly we will probably have to wait until October. I wonder whether the UK vehicles needing steering wheels on the right affects their production schedule?Good to know - I will ask my dealer if they are getting one and if so to add me to the list.
There is a massive over-subscription, but many of these are people who reserve any new car coming out as a way of getting on the list until full details are released. Kia say they restricted initial orders to those who placed reservations when they opened in April. I know that by April 19th this was 1000. How many of these went on to place an order I don't know. Given the popularity of the eNiro I should imagine Kia will have catered for intense demand and will be able to deliver to a large number of the early orders.
Thank you for the update. Looks as if there will be some disappointed people who ordered late. I do agree we need better communications as to what is happpening.I took the chance and contacted another dealer last night. They said that the order book is full for this year and that anyone ordering now will get delivery in January at the earliest. So hopefully, this means anyone who did order in the first few days will be scheduled for a 2021 delivery, and October is still the timeframe for the first batch to arrive. It then is down to Kia how they distribute. Will it be in batches by area (most cost-effective) or on a first-ordered-first-delivered basis.
In terms of LHD/RHD, I am not an expert but I do believe that on these new modular platforms, and with steering/brakes/being mostly electronic rather than mechanical, the switch between the two is far less difficult. Given the popularity of Kia EV's in the UK I should imagine they have factored in the first batch.
Personally, I don't mind waiting for the right car if communications are good. I cancelled my other EV order because there was almost no communication and lots of delays. It was down to a few guys on the forums who did the job the manufacturer should have been doing, and an amazing concierge who was the only bright point.
