Was wondering if anyone has an update on any orders placed in may last year? With the recent all ev6s being promised to be delivered in under 12 months I was wondering if anyone has had cars shipped or conformation?

My car was promised for q1 but latest update (issued the weekend) is may to July with no build date confirmed

Ordered GT-S RWD in black no HP

Seems to be a lot of AWDs coming in lately so hopefully they are running RWDs soon

GT-Line S models are arriving anywhere between 12 - 16 months from order date at the moment. The lack of a heat pump may get you to the lower end of that range though.
Either way I'm afraid you're likely to be in for more waiting especially if it's not built yet!

The seemingly impossible has happened.

Been informed that my GTLS RWD in Blue has been built and is awaiting a shipping date. Estimated 2nd week of May for collection. Resisting the champagne until the car is actually delivered as I wouldnt be surprised if the boat hit an iceberg on the way over.

Has anyone taken up the offer of autoglym life shine protection ?
Trying to weigh up options on PPF & ceramic but i dont hear many going for autoglym life shine.

if it locks in the gloss and allows for an easier clean as suggested it seems like a suitable alternative ?

Hi - my wife's Honda Jazz had that done. Water drops don't form as much as on my EV6 though. Like everything it is the preparation of the paint surface prior to application of protection that is key. If you see swirls of light then buffing is required prior to covering. I had Gtechniq applied after enhanced polishing and the result is great. Both products do mean care in cleaning using their recommended products. Certainly prohibit dealers from washing your car! Important not to remove delivery covers if going to professional detailers.
If Autoglym being applied at dealers find out who will be applying it and their training/experience. I "lost" my EV6 for 2 days as you have to let the application set off.
Pleased for your news on delivery. You can now think about getting all the extras - I have bought and fitted mudguards, a Dongar dashcam power adapter, Bluetooth battery monitor, NOCO booster and Kia rubber mats and finally centre console tray to provide extra level of storage.

Just had my monthly update from my dealer, no delivery update for me but confirmed that current builds were for cars ordered Feb 2022 with April delivery which means order to delivery times now around 14 months for higher spec models a little sooner for models with less tech HP etc., hanging in there!

I ordered my AWD GT Line in May. It's sitting at the dealership just waiting on paper work (company car scheme).

I opted not to have the autoglym. Have Suntek PPF installed next week, then Gtechniq ceramic on top.
Having wheels and glass protected with Gtechniq as well.
Interior will also be protected.
The cost is more than the autoglym stuff, but I believe I will get better protection.
Noco booster has been purchased as well. Not precious about wireless car play though.
Have the centre console tray though

bought mats and boot liner from kiaparts Uk.
Have a set of rubber ones as well for the crap weather.
I bought the extra piece to go on the boot liner so it flops out over the bumper to help protect that as well.

I asked the dealer not to wash the car, but got them to remove the plastics etc with care.
Protex are completing the PPF etc.

Personally I would not allow a dealer valet person to apply any paint work protection, the Autoglym life shine can be brought on Ebay cheply and you would make a better job, it's a dealer money spinner.

If you want the paintwork protected pay the extra money and get a professional car detailer to do the work, not only will it look better, the end result will be a much better job with better products.

You will only wish you had and it's not much more then some dealer charge for the 50 pounds Autoglym product.

fully agree at the end of the day it's all snake oil if you look at the small print you have to do daft things like wash every week with their products it will cost a fortune.I was in the motor trade all my working life and I was applying it back in the seventies to new Jaguars. Just keep them clean and wax a few times a year and was off any bird pooh immediately. Good luck and safe driving everyone

Hello, I have a question for the clever people on this forum who know their stuff
I have just taken delivery of my GT Line S AWD
I was looking for the Winter Mode while getting to know my car.

there is a battery conditioning mode in EV settings.
My question:
Is the Winter mode now called the battery conditioning mode?
As I cannot find winter mode in EV settings

many thanks for the help

Yes, this replaced winter mode.
If you navigate to a charger using the built in navigation it will pre-heat the battery to improve the charging times.

Agreed
I have autoglym products from previous cars
Always applied myself
It’s just money for old rope with dealers

I did not take their GAP insurance either
It’s more fun sourcing stuff yourself

having my car done by a professional detailer next week.

enjoy your car
