Kia EV6 - UK

Hi Everyone, I thought I would start up a thread specifically for UK-based subscribers.

I have recently ordered a Kia EV6 GT-Line S 4WD in Matt grey with Heat Pump. I had originally signified my interest by paying a £100 refundable deposit (returned last week direct from Kia). On the 4th May my dealership, Newbarn in Bognor Regis (great people to work with) took a £500 deposit and ordered my car.

As of today I have no delivery date (October 2021 has been mentioned). However the orders were well over-subscribed here in the UK so I am unsure how that will affect delivery, hopefully I will be near the front of the queue if it is based on ordering time.

I have yet to see any photographs of a grey EV6 GT-Line S (unless someone knows differently) and so have to rely on the scant written data available.

On delivery I will be asking the dealer to take the car to the local CeramicPro installer for them to clean and cover the car, glass, wheels and interior with their magic goo. Hopefully that will protect the car from Seagulls and sea spray!

Interested to hear from others who have ordered and how their experience has been to date, and what news they have been able to pick up.

If it landed today, it was probabley on the GLOVIS CORONA.
Thanks bogga, you are surely correct. Do you have visibility on when she left Pyeontaek, would have been around 10th April I guess? I wonder if anyone else who was assuming Grand Uranus will also get a surprise call....

Edit: found a site that shows she left Pyeontaek 15th April.

This is why I want the granny. I nipped into the dealership yesterday unannounced and had a cheeky look at mine while it still had all the protection wrap on it etc. Had a quick look in the boot but only V2L and type 2. I’ll question it on Friday formally and as annoyed as I’ll be it’s probably one argument too many for me to muster the energy. I’ll probably just buy one from screw fix when I know I need it.
Ditto 👍

Thanks! So my car was probably loaded on her first visit. Glovis seem to do a lot fewer stops than Eukor, or at least Corona did.

You'll have share how quickly it gets from the port to your dealer...

I will. This is at least the intended schedule, which seems to tally with others' experience. Excuse the poor quality of a photo of the dealer's screen...

Has anyone else got a car yet through a company salary sacrifice scheme? If so, did that add any unwanted complexity to the timing and handover or was it seamless? My dealer has never dealt with one before and have not yet even been contacted by the lease company. I fear delays due to paperwork or lack of communication.
Mine refused to value my car at the time I signed the order knowing that the car wouldn't be here for at least 10+ months. They said they would contact me when the car was in the country to organise the valuation at that time.
i got my dealer to value mine by saying i was thinking of trading it for a temporary car from them while i waited, as I wanted to sell while the price on mine was good. Actually, it was done in good faith, but I decided to hang onto it. Ironically, i've just done a cursory check of value again, and it hasn't changed in 5 months!
Hi Mark, do you have a link? Cheers Ian.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07TZQXXBN £169.95 for 5m one. There is a 10m option as well.

Mines on its way. Ordered early April, expected at dealer early July. I don’t get as much info as people dealing directly with the dealers do it seems. I now have a chassis number and the system says “released from factory” but that’s about it. I got the odd email when the delivery date was pushed back but never any real detail in it.
I’m expecting the handover to be pretty good, but I may be disappointed

Well well well, the lease company just updated me to say that the car has been released from the factory. Estimated to be delivered to me 31/07 though subject to change.
closest boat I can see to arrive around then is the Morning Lady into immingham.
Now I feel excited again

Amazing.....received an email this morning from my dealer that my order (Yacht Blue GT Line S AWD with HP) is in production now with an estimated delivery date of 24th July to the dealership. Ordered on 4th July 2022 and after reading about all the delays on the forum I'd given up hope of getting the car until the end of the year.

As you can see from below I am awaiting the immanent arrival of my EV6. I have been following this forum since ordering, but had nothing to contribute so I didn't register.

I have been following the discussion regarding the 'granny' charger and was also expecting to get one included. I checked with my dealer and he said that they have not been receiving these chargers with the cars since last August or so.

At the time of ordering I saved a copy of the spec, presumably MY21. Bottom of page 2 it says:

Charging
Standard: Type 2 to Type 2 charger (5m cable length) - Type 2 to 3 pin charger

Checking the current spec sheet, these lines are omitted.

On the basis that I want the latest features and functions available on the model when delivered, I won't hold Kia to the original spec (not forgetting the 3 price increases since ordering!).

My dealer recommended the Screwfix charger, but on investigating the Master Plug cable I found SuperlecDirect have the same cable but at £169.97 vs £194.99 for 10m and £159.64 vs £169.99 for 5m. They also do a MP branded carry case for £8.29. All prices include VAT and next day dpd delivery.

I got the 10m plus carry case for £178.26

I just need the car to plug it into!

I am pushing hard for a granny charger but realising it is probably a lost cause and resigned buying my own. I need one as my car will now arrive before my home charger, by a couple of weeks. My car was built a week after yours and is now in the UK so I hope yours is too and delivery is surely any day now?
Picked mine up this morning, took it home, loaded it up with my wife, baby and all the crap that you need to keep a baby alive and drove 133 miles to my parents. I absolutely love it - was well worth the wait. I’m also quite impressed by the actual range I got. Mostly 70 on the M1/M25 but lots of traffic so not steady and my Kia connect app is saying I averaged 4.10miles/kWh! Didn’t get a granny charger even though I asked but decided not to let that take the shine off a great first day with the car!

Forgive my laziness, but over 6000 posts are a lot to wade through. Having ordered my EV6 last August, I got confirmation from my dealer yesterday that my car will be loaded onto the ship today, with delivery expected on 8 July.

What should I bear in mind? In particular (1) best tethered charger? (2) are delays still likely? (3) does the car come with everything I need or do I need to pick up any extras? (4) do Kia dealers offer decent part exchange offers for my existing car, or should I sell elsewhere? (5) anything else I should do!

All guidance welcome!

I would take delivery dates with a pinch of salt from KIA!!
I ordered 08th March 2022 (EV6 GTLineS AWD with HP in White), was told built on 19th April 2023 and shipped 25th April 2023 placing it on the Morning Lily EUKOR ship currently tracking as heading up the Red Sea for the Suez Canal. My delivery date was showing as 20th June 2023 but this has moved to 05th July 2023 with no aparrent reasoning. I suspect that the ship will be calling into other ports in Europe ahead of the UK (Southampton before being transferred by road up to Immingham). My spec shows three cables to be supplied 1. Type 2 to Type 2, 2. V2L and 3. Type 1 granny charger which I'll be asking for. If I'm not offered the granny charger due to unavailability or manufacturing changes with the spec, then I will ask for something in its place (i.e. servicing plan discount by £170.00 that will allow me to then purchase one from Screwfix or the MP plug that have been highighted in the earlier comments within this thread (Thank you in advance for those members who have contributed).
My charger was installed in April 2023 (Myenergi Zappi 2) so I'm now regularly dusting off the cobwebs outside!! I'm also looking at the display on the charger showing lots of electricity being generated by my Solar panels that will provide my free charging for a very large part of the year (smugness prevailing!)
It has been a long....long...wait indeed for many of us, especially as mine was supposed to be delivered in September 2023 when I placed the order back on 08th March 2022! At least I'm now down to weeks and not months to wait.

I went for a tethered charger at home
I purchased rear boot liner, rear seat protectors, bumper flap and fire extinguisher from KIA parts directly. I also purchased a NOCOGBX45 Boost portable charger/starter (following reading the comments on 12V Battery swipes some folks have had)
I have a PX in place which will be honoured by my local KIA dealer, however, I'm going to put my car on Autotrader a week before mine is due to see what interest there is and if I sell it for more than I've offered great, if not I'll take the KIA offer of PX that was 15-16 months ago!
I would familiarise myself with the KIA manual for the car that you can download and read at leisure to digest many of the features of the car.
I would also make a list of the things that should be checked upon delivery not just with your eyes but testing what should be working on the car during the handover.

I got an astonishingly good price for my car from Cazoo. Ymmv but worth the minute it takes to check.
Hi all. if your dealer contacted you when your car went into production and gave you shipping dates , I’d suggest you give them a call and ask they check the schedule again.
I was told mine had shipped and the system showed an expected arrival in the uk on 26th May which all matched being on the Grand Uranus (no sniggering). but I’ve just found out today that it’s already in the UK.
no idea when Kia’s system updated ( my dealer wasn’t checking ) and I found out only because I popped in to discuss the financing side of things.
