For those of you waiting for the delivery of your Kia EV9 (or if you have already received it), congratulations on a really great car! I had the opportunity to test drive it for a few days in the north and it's hard not to like it, from design, to space and technology. See below for some of my key takeaways from this test drive:
- Background info: temperature range between 0 and -5 degrees (Celsius). Mixed driving of highway, country side roads and city.
- Average range with full battery: c. 385 km (WLTP of 505 km). Consumption varied between 24-30 kWh/100 km depending on driving style and speed, average consumption of c. 26 kWh/100 km
- Overall a really nice car with lots of supporting tech, suspension/chassi provides comfortable ride. Quick on the straights (0-100 in 5,3 seconds), but definitely not a sporty car as weight is c. 2,7 tonnes. Fulfills most important criteria, ie comfortable ride and good passenger space / loading capacity (333 liters with all 7 seats up, 828 liters with third row down and a whopping 2318 liters with second and third row down)
- Wouldn’t call the interior premium, but definitely of good quality, however for a car with a starting price of 77 kEUR, I would expect a bit more regarding interior quality. Would have been great to have air suspension as option
