Rather have the 60/40 split third row for more storage options like the telluride personally
VERY Telluride!
VERY Telluride!
Agree pricing will be key, particularly as these likely won't qualify for the 7.5k tax credit that most of the competition will enjoy. Unless Kia gets creative with leasing structures?Pricing will be the issue. Our 2023 SX X Line Telluride was $50k. A mid spec awd for $60k would be reasonable. I don’t think it’s going to be possible given ev6 prices but we’ll see.
Serious question... did you join this forum just to post this?I still think my R1S look a lot better.
I am pretty sure the top end AWD gives only about 240 milesExactly what I was thinking. If the range is 300+ I'll likely trade in my EV6 and my Jeep
I'd say that depends on charge speed really. Rivian has a 400V architecture and 10-80% times are reportedly between 40-45 min on a 350kWh charger. If EV9 is charges in under 25 minutes from 10-80% I'd give the edge to the EV9. Sure you might be making an extra charging stop on a day of driving, but potentially you would get in and out faster in the 9.im really interested to see if an awd model will hit 270 real world miles. if not then it doesn't seem worth it to me, when for a bit more money you can get an R1S, which definitely will.
I'd try to talk a friend out of buying a Rivian at this point. Deliveries and revenue keep pushing out, the stock's lost 90% of its value since IPO, more layoffs are coming. Not sure they're going to make it, and if they don't depreciation and parts support for existing owners will become serious issues. $.02, but I don't have similar concerns around Kia.it looks nice and im sure it will be great around town, but im really interested to see if an awd model will hit 270 real world miles. if not then it doesn't seem worth it to me, when for a bit more money you can get an R1S, which definitely will. I'm looking for a 3 row family/road trip car that will go at least 250-270 miles on a charge in real world conditions and I'm willing to pay for more batteries to ensure that.
That's my concern with Rivian or any of the other new companies in the last few years that are not Tesla. I have a reservation on a Fisker Ocean that I need to get refunded. In this economic climate I can't trust companies that I don't know will be around in 5 years. That's just too much of a leap of faith.I'd try to talk a friend out of buying a Rivian at this point. I do wonder if it will make it to the US market though, seems like we always get something gimped due to some obsolescent law or another.View attachment 12602
That is cool!
End of '23Question because I forgot when does this come out again (when can we purchase)?
I'm a kia guy, but couldn't wait no longer so bought an Ariya last month but I'm liking this even though the interior and infotainment looks like my Ariya. But love the exterior look, I don't care for white cars so waiting to see the darker colors.
I was about to post this quote. The only people![]()
Here’s our first look at Kia’s EV9 three-row electric SUV
The EV9 was designed with American tastes in mind and goes on sale later this year.arstechnica.com
"We have consciously not used piano black," explained Jochen Paesen, vice president of interior design at Kia. "We're using a middle gray; it's in both matte and gloss. But as you see, the combination between matte and gloss is what makes it feel refined rather than just having a lot of gloss material. So it gives you a modernity, we feel. The black gloss has had its time—we can do without it," Paesen told Ars.
