Your definition of better is quite different than mine. I would never buy a car that required me to be tethered to my phone.

Turning the top part of the air cleaner upside down because race car noises...lolSomewhat-related--how about back in the day when those old-fashioned round air filters were almost as large as a spare donut tire? Ok I'm exaggerating a bit there but for those of you who've driven and maintained carburated vehicles you know what I'm talking about...
one year agoSo I made a post about a month ago about how I hated the lack of convenience features on my new EV6 compared to my old Tesla. I am still frustrated with the car, but until my new M3 Comp xDrive comes in, I am trying to learn to live with the car, so maybe I won't feel like I have to get rid of it when my order comes in from Germany.
My one constant pain point is the vehicle not having auto lock. I still cannot get used to getting out of the car and tapping the indent, or hitting the lock button on the FOB. It seems so asinine. The car has approach unlock, why doesn't it have walk-away auto-lock? The car can send me an app alert telling me I forgot to lock the car, so why can't it just lock itself?
I need to solve this issue. The shark racing module doesn't specify if it works with the EV6 GT. There are some posts mentioning the module all over the forum, but no confirmation if it works or not.
Suggestions?
agree. The overall experience between the phone as a key and always on experience is far superior. Here's the thing, as Mr. Monk would say, the Tesla not only has walk away locking, it also has get-in-and-go starting, i. e. There is no button to turn on the car. Just step on brake pedal, put in gear and go AND when you exit the car it turns everything off and locks itself . Very convenient. I believe that is what this post misses. I know I do.![]()
Thanks God!Really - this isn't a deal breaker from a larger perspective. The EV6 wasn't modeled after a Tesla.
My thoughts exactly! With the kind of research available today to a 76 year old…I am considered a genius!First world problem.Clearly this is not the car you want due to lack of one optional convenience feature. The question is, why didn’t you realize this before you bought the car?
Ford Mach e has it. Had the 2021 and drove it for 16 months before trade in for GT Line - which I love - bit definitely miss that feature.This. Apparently owning a Ford as my other vehicle, which also does not auto lock, helped temper my need for this feature, or driving Rams for work, which also do not auto lock.
Man, this sounds almost as bad as waking up and somehow discovering you live in a house without self closing drawers! Sounds a little bit like a first world problem? So I made a post about a month ago about how I hated the lack of convenience features on my new EV6 compared to my old Tesla. Yeah that’s a dumb (cheap?) omission by Kia. I, too, sometimes just hit the lock button on my way out in my previous vehicles.I'm not so much interested in auto-locking, but I would like the ability to hit the key lock button on the door as I'm exiting to lock the doors. That was my practice with my prior very-much-not-smart car, and it is very easy to press that button as you're stepping out of the car. With the EV6, for some reason, that button does not lock the doors as I'm getting out. Maybe I'm missing something dumb.
I was able to lock the car with a smart key lock button the hatch in my previous 3 cars. Don’t see me complaining about it. That was a great feature. So many hating on this guy. It's a miss on Kia's part and he's pointed it out. Mache e has and did since 2021 launch - great feature and call-out by OP.
Sounds like you can’t see the Forrest for the trees. The Kia is a superior car to the Tesla with respect to fit and finish, driving comfort, access to important functions, and over all reliability, it’s a much more attractive car than the model y and more reasonably priced. Read the Consumer Reports evaluations. So I made a post about a month ago about how I hated the lack of convenience features on my new EV6 compared to my old Tesla. Not following. He never said it wasn't superior, just that an expected feature was missing. And he's right. It's a software upgrade option waiting to happen - get on it Kia!Sounds like you can’t see the Forrest for the trees. So your hopelessly disappointed in your previous Tesla, completely unhappy with your Kia....why would you buy either one again? If only it were about a missing feature.
I regret my purchase of an EV6 GT. If I didn't have so many warranty issues and service issues with my Tesla, I would say that I would take the back the Tesla in a heartbeat, but maybe they've gotten better over the last few years. If you told me bare bones for bare bones, I could swap into a Model Y Performance from this car, I would take the swap in a heartbeat.
I feel like a fucking dumbass for buying a EV6 GT over a Tesla Model Y Performance.
Wow! Accept my apology. Did not see the full original post I thought this guy was being picked on because of a feature he thought would be good. My bad for trying to read this forum from my phone and only getting bits and pieces when I click on the links. I stand corrected. If only it were about a missing feature.
