Minnesota Kia Dealer Recommendation

2438 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  MurlinatoR
I have talked to 2 dealers, one in South Dakota and one in Minnesota. Neither was willing to acknowledge that there was a reservation list for the EV6. "there is no such thing" for a concept car. Treated me like I was stupid. If I have to choose my dealer by September 1, I want someone who will treat me with some respect. Is there anyone else on these forums from the Twin Cities area that has a dealer to recommend?

Kia has just launched a hand-raiser program to be put on a list for interest in EV6 for next year. Kia's program takes a $100 100% refundable reservation payment as they call it to be put on an interest list which unfortunately does not reserve an actual vehicle. Initial vehicles will be in very limited production and the program is not a guarantee. If you signed up for the list Kia's $100 reservation payment is refundable from Kia. No vehicle for purchase is guaranteed or locked up by using this program from Kia. It is not a dealership program.
From experience, some people don‘t know things about their own company or even their jobs. It is a reservation system however, does not require you to purchase. I believe the dealer will contact those that ordered to come in once the vehicle arrives, you get to check it out and decide if you want to purchase it. I was offered an ID.4 as some of the folks that reserved it, passed on the vehicle, which then made it available to anyone to buy. It will be similar with the EV6.

Is KIA requiring you to choose a dealer when you sign up for the reservation?
Yes, we had to specify dealer when making the reservation. We can change our reservation (color, dealer) until September 1.
Makes sense as a place for delivery. I’m sure each place will have someone trained on the vehicle to perform a great delivery experience. Makes sense to check out online reviews to see how they stack up in your area, if you don’t own a KIA product and have any personal experience with the local dealers.
MagKap...where did you sign up--through the Kia USA website or directly with a dealer? I looked on the Kia USA website and only see a signup for the First Edition.
That is all you can register for. When the rest comes out, it will be available to all.

In the US, the first edition of 1500 units has been fully reserved. I tried to sign up later and they wouldn't even take my $100 fee. I expect Kia will open for reservation again in the Fall.

Hey MagKap, happy Monday.

I'm in central IA and would be willing to help you get your EV6 if you'd like.

They said cutoff was 9/1 but I believe that you can still edit your reservation and change dealers if you want to. Feel free to message me if you want to discuss it more.
