Have you (and the other people having 12v battery issues) had all the software updates installed? Just wondering if updates can be an issue..or lack of updates can be an issue
Had most of the updates done.Have you (and the other people having 12v battery issues) had all the software updates installed? Just wondering if updates can be an issue..or lack of updates can be an issue
Nothing plugged in. I don’t schedule charging with the car but with the charger.Sorry to read your issues and will be a dead 12 volt battery for sure as mine did exactly the same thing.
My dealer was happy for me to keep the car and use the booster while the battery was order as it was on a long lead time, not the most convient of things to keep jump starting the car but better then a loaner car.
Battery was replaced a few weeks later, took less then 30 minutes to do and touch wood since then no issues at all.
One thing to ask, do you have anything plugged in such as a camera etc or are you using scheduled charging?
It could be a coincidence, but I had the dead 12V battery just a few days after my 8k service where they also applied the TSBs for the amp and ICCU.Have you (and the other people having 12v battery issues) had all the software updates installed? My EV6 was completely dead as well, had to jump it and drove it to the dealership where they kept it over the weekend and the battery checked out "fine" every time. I'm wondering if the 40 minute drive from my house to the dealership ended up charging the 12V enough to get it back to a healthy state. It's been fine all this week since then.

That's what I'm wondering.. I'm going for my 8k/1yr service tomorrow.. I'm wondering if I should let them do the updates. I did have the parking brake recall installed, but not other updates unless it was an ota update.. which I believe there was only one (at least for me)

I'm wondering if I should get mine updated if it's going to cause me 12v battery problems.. hmmmmHad most of the TSB updates.
I do have all the TSBs but the preconditioning one and no battery issues. I installed a battery monitor and the 12V battery is always charged at 98-100 percent.I'm wondering if I should get mine updated if it's going to cause me 12v battery problems.. hmmmm
I had that issue few months ago I left the doors open while recording a review item from a sponsor for my YT channel and the 12v battery died. Eventhough all the dome light where off. I later got the battery replaced and since then I haven't had any issue. Note: I always use the Utility Mode whenever I keep the doors open to prevent the 12v battery from depleting.Bought car June 1st 2022. Now convered 24000 miles. Car serviced last week and service Chart shows 12v battery checked good. Recently I had low battery warning signs and quickly switched car on and was scared to sit with just ignition on but not running (ICE car terminology). So I put my jump start Noco Booster in my car just in case. Sure enough had to use it to switch car on after getting the warning signs, beeps and turn car on with key fob. This has happened five or six times now. Called the dealer. They said can’t do anything until car is towed into dealer with dead battery. And they can’t give me a loaner car if that happens either.
Tonight car is dead. Can’t lock the doors. Had to put jumper on battery to lock the doors. Arranged tow from Kia to dealer in morning. Hopefully this isn’t beginning of a saga that others have had. Not looking good.
So basically the same thing that happened to me, except I drove the car to the dealership instead of having it towed.Update: car towed in. Dealer saw 12v battery was dead. They charged it up. Couldn’t replicate the dead battery issues. Gave me car back. So nothing changed or “fixed”. So use until next time. Guess I’m keeping the battery pack starter handy.
I would keep it very close by, I was charging mine every 2-3 days, any longer and the battery went dead, the last thing you want to be is stranded.Update: car towed in. Did you car not get towed to them with a dead battery already?Yes. They told me they needed to see the car in the dead battery state and to use the Kia app to get it towed in.
Yes. Last week. Then they tested it. 12v battery tested fine so it couldn’t be replaced on warranty because nothing was wrong with it. The service advisor is very good and wants to get to the bottom of it. I guess we’re all waiting for Hyundai/Kia to issue a recall to replace whatever is causing this to happen too so many owners. I was always told don’t get a first year of production car. And that’s what I did.Did you car not get towed to them with a dead battery already?
No. Go to the Kia app and start the request from there. It’s part of the warrantyWhen you guys had it towed, did you have to pay for the tow??
So if the 12 volt battery tested fine what was there explanation to your issues?Yes. Last week.
