Does anyone know why I am getting this message over the past days that I have been trying to update my EV^?

The May update was taken down for EV6 to make fixes/additional changes. Then in notifications you’ll see the server is now offline until June 4.

That is not a positive piece of information! This is the reason that Tesla has it all over the competition.

It may be argued that Tesla does at present, but it's important to remember that its earliest years were fraught with software and hardware glitches. It has had a number of years to perfect its game and most would agree that it has the lead in technology - for now.

Where does it say that? I don't see any additional notifications.
Is it possible to make this update process anymore complex and mysterious? Disappointing! Two days ago I was surprised by an OTA from 10/22! Anyone know why such a delay?

Just earliest years? I also have a new Y. Tesla just labels something as beta and people give them a pass on the glitches and functional omissions. My auto wipers have been randomly turning on on non-rainy days. I asked the service advisor to check on this system calibration when I was in for service to replace the front seat which had been punctured at delivery. His response was telling me that it is a beta system and various reflections and shadows can and will set off the wipers. The parking aid system was non existent when I took delivery (because they deleted all ultrasonic sensors) and a beta offering was enabled a few weeks after. It’s been completely unreliable for anything closer than two feet.

Tesla’s technical advantage is their app and their architecture set up like a smartphone.

I also got the same message when I tried to download the update today. It's very disappointing as I just installed the Fall 2022 update two weeks ago and I wanted to stay up to date with the new May 2023 update.
Hopefully the server won't be down the entire time until June 4th. Due to their use of a tilde (~), that might just be a worst-case planned end date for the downtime. It might be back sooner.
i don't believe for a minute its due to server maintenance. I think they screwed up something in the code and the unfortunate people who installed this latest update are driving ticking time bombs (like me).

i hope my car doesn't blow up...
I got the OTA update last week and I also got updates for Android Auto recently. Yesterday my car got stuck with Android Auto connected permanently (even though Android Auto wasn't working at all). If I pressed the Android Auto button on the Kia menu the entire screen locked up and went blank. Everything was gone including all cameras unless I held down the power button/volume knob. The home button on the Kia menu no longer worked. I even unpaired the phone and tried USB connections, but nothing would bring back the Android Auto functionality. The only thing that fixed the problem was leaving the car turned off long enough for the infotainment system to fully shut down and reboot (meaning a Kia logo and safety confirmation screen on boot). Apparently, if you turn the car off and on within a few minutes, the vehicle stays in some kind of sleep mode for fast rebooting. I don't know if there's a way to manually trigger the full shut down reboot sequence.
@Zappinit2ya
Have you tried the pin hole reset near the volume knob? Use something like a paper clip, not something sharp like a needle.

I didn't do the update immediately for this very reason. Last one I did was the August update.

I used to jump on updates immediately (windows, android, etc.). I just wait a bit now. Unless it's a critical security update or some feature I really...really need. Just don't want the headache.

If the infotainment locks up again I will try that. Thank you.

I just thought I should mention I've had this car for almost a year and this has never happened before this latest update.
I've had my EV6 for a year as well. I did install the May 2023 update in both my car and my wife's 2020 Soul EV. Neither of us have experienced any issues with the update so far - knock on wood.

I think it is inconsiderate at the very least plus bordering on arrogance for Kia not to give a clear and reasonable explanation for pulling the software update. A lot of people who have already installed the update are likely concerned as to how it might negatively affect the vehicle, and may be concerned if there is any risk involved.

Thx to my computer/IT background I understand the update primarily affects the NAV and entertainment rather than the vehicle as a whole. So I am not too concerned. However since the NAV software impacts battery preconditioning I guess there could be an issue. Could the battery preheating be turned on and not shut off, or something like that? I think not likely, but I haven't the benefit of seeing the program coding.

It is so typical for software engineers and programmers to have the end user do quality assurance.

I tried to download the latest Nav update for my 2023 EV6 and the app has been saying the system is offline. Anyone having the same issues?

--Mike
Mine came in around noon on May 11 and I downloaded it around 6pm with no issues.
Thanks. I didn't see the new notification because it doesn't show up at the top of the list. The list of notifications is not in any order I can discern. Most lists like this are sorted by descending date.
What do you mean “yours came in”? Does each person have their own unique download?

I'm not sure. I can only tell you when it first appeared on my screen and when I downloaded it. I would think those notifications are sent in batches, so there would be others with the same experience.
