My FE AWD (March 22) is approaching 9K miles. Meridian sound system just failed . No sound from few speakers. Tin can sound. Almost like a loud cell phone speaker. I have scheduled an Appointment with the Irvine Kia dealer. Previously, the Nav unit(maps only) froze at around 5K miles, and did the update via USB myself and it got resolved and I felt the sound also had improved compared to earlier. One thing I noticed from day one of ownership is the whole Display unit runs super hot during the day. Even at night, the unit gets really warm. I wonder what insane computer processing does it have to do to just connect bluetooth and play some music and display some basic info.
Same.. my Medidian sound system also failed with the same fault last week. Kia will replace the amp, but no timeline for parts atm.

I don't know if this is possible, but it would be very interesting to know if the "NEW" amp has a different part number than the old one? If any of you that have taken the time, or will take the time to look at the old dead amp please document the p/n of it and post here. Then, maybe as the new ones come in the new p/n (if it is a new one) will be reflected on the work order.(maybe)

Would also be interesting if the new amp has any improvements over the subwoofer output compared to the old one.

I have a GT-Line AWD and completely lost all interior sounds except startup. My dealer needed to call the Kia TechLine and open a case with corporate to get it diagnosed. They determined that there was an open circuit and replaced the External AMP (Part 96370-CV100) yesterday. Sounds are good again. Not an audiophile so not sure how to comment on quality, but sounds good enough to me. No documentation on old part number, but assume old and new are the same.

I wonder how they got the replacement amp so fast?

I have the replacement external amplifier and haven't noticed any difference. I'm good with the performance of the audio system, keeping the volume at 40 and above.
Thank you for letting us know.

Hello. I'm not the owner of a Kia EV model, but a proceed gt line 2020 model. I also have the issue of the front door speakers cutting out for a few seconds. It's weird how it happens since I thought about some loose contact but potholes don't trigger it. It always just happens without any jerky carmotions or anything. For me it also started happening since about a week ago. Very annoying issue!

headunit 10,25" model combined with jbl speakers(factory default) and updated to the May-version. I have put all audio-related settings to default also.

Welcome to the EV6 forum, you may have better luck with the Kia forum for your Proceed as people here talk about the EV6.

I was sitting my AWD wind yesterday listening to a podcast (volume around 32) for a few minutes when a super loud whirring/interference type of sound came out of the speakers. I closed Spotify and unplugged the CarPlay dongle but the noise didn't stop until I turned the vehicle off. After turning the car back on, the noise was gone but most of my speakers are no longer working. I've tried bluetooth/spotify, the radio, etc. There is a little bit of sound coming from behind the steering wheel and in the very back of the vehicle, but nothing from the meridian speakers. I'm going to call the service dept. tomorrow but I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else can relate... this is the first issue I've had. I took the car in last month for a update due to the recall.. so I'm assuming it's up-to-date.

Hey. I experienced something strange today. I drove to work, listened to music as usual... When I drove home I had no sound via the Bluetooth system. I tryed calling via Bluetooth, and there was no sound... So I tryed the radio. Absolutely no sound.. Then i noticed the lane-change warning did not make any sound either. So my conclusion is absolutely no sounds from the car whatsoever. Anyone else experienced this?

I tryed rebooting the car. It was parked for a few hours, and still the same problem. I tryed pushing the reset button on the dashboard (right to the on/off button. Screen reboots) any ideas?
Hi,

Occasionally we have found that there’s no sound coming from the Meridian speakers. We get no sound from the different audio modes of DAB, Bluetooth, or even the Sounds of Nature app that comes with the car. This also affects the alerts, such as collision and also the car navigation voice.

We have tried turning the car off and starting again and this doesn’t seem to resolve the problem.

The only way we have seen the problem resolve is if we have driven to a place and then left the vehicle and gone shopping for example and then returned to the car and the speakers work again.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

We are up to date on all of the latest Kia updates from the dealer, but we had the problem before some of the more recent updates too.

mine started this the other day. It started when I opened the door to get in and the passenger side tweeter was making a static and pulsing loud noise. It quit after 30 seconds, then after that the stereo speakers don’t work nor does the front collision audio. After more checking, every time I open any door even the rear hatch the passenger tweeter makes a static rice crispie sound (much lower than the first time) once the car is turned on and put in gear the stereo works till the static quits then the speakers quit also. It’s at the dealer with initial assessment (don’t know what the problem is) continues. It did work fine for a month after the recall to the amplifier.

Had the same thing happen. It’s at the dealer now. There first assessment is that all the software is good and the car is not showing anything wrong. The mechanic heard or not what the problem is and is waiting from KIA corporate for a fix. Ours is the GTline. I’ll post when I get an answer

New amp was installed after a two week wait for the part. Looks like, amp issue is now a safety recall . (safety issue since many audible signal alarms and beeps are linked to the amp)

Yes, when my amp was replaced they wanted to put me in a loaner until the replacement amp arrived, due to some warning sounds/alerts not functioning. I convinced them that as the warnings were related to voluntary options (e.g., adaptive cruise control, lane minder) so I could still safely drive the car by not using those. They were good with that. Also at the time (mid-May) the replacement amp was in-stock (only four nationwide) so it was to take only two days to arrive. They gave me a loaner for the day (morning drop-off, evening pickup) of the actual repair.

Also, the part number that was replaced in mine is 96370-CV100QQK . Initial replacements reported in this forum and the earlier service action doc were I believe 96370-CV100

After 2 days at the dealer and showing them your reply about the amp, they are ordering the part. Hope a recall comes soon for other owners. Not impressed with KIA’s service not being able to diagnose the problem and waiting for corporate to reply to an email on how to fix the car.
