Press and hold "mode" button on the wheel to get snow mode. I think it locks out regen and engages the front clutch so the front wheels are always available for stability control
Help me understand this, please, because my instincts tell me that regen braking would help with traction. Like downshifting in a manual shift instead of free-wheeling or actual braking. I guess I don't really know what regen braking is!

I think your intuition is right, it's just a question of how that works in practice.
  • It depends how ABS is implemented. No idea whether you get ABS-during-regen, since the braking force of even max regen is well below the 1+ G the friction brakes can accomplish. Since snow makes wheels slip SO early, perhaps ABS is much more reliable during friction-only braking. Maybe snow mode just adds a regen torque limit during blended baking so the friction ABS can take over easily.
  • The natural behavior in snow is to feather the throttle and feather the brake, and otherwise coast, since completely free coasting will provide maximum lateral traction for steering/just staying in the lane. In regen 1, applying the brake will still add-in more regen before the friction ever comes into play.
Anyway, lots of things I can imagine tuning up, even about regen specifically, to maintain better traction in snow.

Well, I tried almost all dealers listed on this thread. Most all now want way above MSRP. A few have nothing in inventory and now all incoming vehicles are for those who place an order. Fowler KIA was the most honest and helpful. .

If any dealer wants to sell me a Wind AWD, please let me know. Thanks
Check out Ontario Kia I got my car last Tuesday at MSRP

Thanks they have two incoming; rwd. I will keep an eye on the site
How's Alhambra with mark Ups?
I went into Alhambra first, when I was taking a deeper look into the ev6.
They do have addendums on the vehicle but just let them know you're serious about buying and that you won't pay the addendum and see where that goes.

The day I bought my Fe,,
I wasn't even considering the EV- 6.
But I had an Email showing what they, "GG Kia" would sale the car for on that day.
I spent 3 hrs there, as they tried to get my credit app from me.
I wouldn't let them run anything until I had all of the right answers.
Which included a level 1 and level 2 charger and MSRP only, nothing else.
They met my challenge~

Kia in Irvine
Paid MSRP for the Glacier White Wind RWD
Came with a Level 1 charger, a Level 2 Chargepoint 50A Charger and some other smaller things.

No markup
Oh also got a military discount rebate to lower the cost by about $400

KIA IN HB is one of the worst dealerships. I wouldn’t buy there. I bought mine at Kia Irvine
+1 to this. HB Kia tried selling me a 10k markup and when I told them Irvine Kia was not marking up they told me it was BS. I really felt like sending them my cost breakdown and final paperwork after I drove out with the new EV6

I have been looking at Kia of Irvine lately too. Did you do a special order with them? Do you have a sales rep you worked with? As it seems like you got a great deal. Thanks.

I put a 2k hold deposit on a car he had coming in that he also had a delivery date on. It was only 3-4 day wait. It was specifically for the glacier white one that I wanted.

came in the day it was promised.
sales reps name is Mo. PM me and I’ll give you his information

Seems too good to be true when I went to Irvine they were 6K over asking and no mention of a charger. I’ve never heard of a dealer giving out chargers. I bought the same charger for $600 on Amazon. Regardless I got my EV 6 GT RWD at Kia Ontario 1.5k over MSRP

I negotiated with the Finance Manager them including a Level 2 Charger and credit for other goodies. They threw in a Level 1 plug-in charger

I might also add that I walked into the dealer as a serious buyer, told Mo that I would 100% move forward with a sale if I don't pay the markup and I left the dealer with a 2k deposit on an incoming vehicle.

He did let me know that if you pre-order on the website, since the systems add a markup on their website, you will be charged that. If you buy in the dealer, they can work a deal without the markup. Prior to this, I went to Huntington Beach where i was told there was a $4995 markup.

All accessories (level 2 + level 1) charger should happen during finance manager getting the loan or lease approval. That's the ideal time to negotiate since they know you are a serious buyer and approved.

I received a $400 Military Credit (As I'm a veteran) and asked to have the level 2 included in the package. They gave me a level 1 for the wait. This dealer also got authorized to order from other sources (as long as it was the same Chargepoint Flex Charger) and they ordered me the Level 2 from Amazon i believe. Got it 3 days later.

Also was given a $300 credit to use on random things in the parts store. It's all in the negotiations my friend

I laughed at that one. Although it could need coolant or brake fluid change

Brake fluid is absolutely an oil, don't let them tell you ANY different when you show up for a free flush in 24mo.
