I would imagine that ordering would start sometime in the summer with deliveries taking place in the last quarter.

What was your final decision? US EV6 1st edition ordering begins next weekSo I ended up reaching out to multiple dealers in the Vancouver Area to gather a bit more intel. So this might be more applicable for some of the Canadian 🇨🇦 folks on here.
I engaged 4 different Kia Dealerships inquiring about the EV6 GT trim. They all gave me a range of information on availability and deposits. Essentially 1 of them was asking for a $2000 deposit for a pre-order where the majority were at $1000 and with one saying $500.
So it looks like there's a bit of flex on the deposit amount from dealer to dealer, which is a bit odd. I recently also put down a pre-order for a GV70 which was $1000 across the board.
I did hear about the release of the first edition last week for the US Market. What was your final decision? US EV6 1st edition ordering begins next week
Understood and hope they get off their hands soon. At least their reply is better than the deer in the headlights response we get from sales ~250 km south of you.I did hear about the release of the first edition last week for the US Market.
Unfortunately, Kia Canada doesn't seem to have its processes in place (yet) to support the same pre-order process.
I've put down 2 EV6 deposits on my own with two different dealers here in the Vancouver Area. I put together a pre-order contract and had them each sign and send it back to me before giving them any money. This is after I reached out to Kia Canada specifically asking for clarification on their pre-order process to which they replied below.
TLDR; basically they have no process in place. It's up to the consumer and dealer to figure it out, which is sad given the importance of their first dedicated EV platform.
They have ad driving to a landing page with the CTA to learn more - but there is nothing like the US site about pre-orders.
I've also been in close communication with the sales managers I've been working with.
It seems that you can ONLY reserve the FIRST EDITION on the US website leaving buyers of all other trims out on the sidelines. The site makes no mention when you can reserve those models either.Understood and hope they get off their hands soon. I was hoping that when the reservation opened, there would be info on the other models as well - not really interested in the First Edition. As there was no mention, I decided to wait it out to see if the First Edition would sell out and more info would show up. (Ironically, I was in line to view the BMW i4 & iX when reservations opened up). I went back on just before noon PST and First Edition were still open for reservations so I reserved one. It looks like I am reservation #2991 (assuming they go in order) - if I remember my third grade math, 2991 is greater than 1500 so not sure how the 1,500 get allocated. It seems that you can ONLY reserve the FIRST EDITION on the US website leaving buyers of all other trims out on the sidelines. Well, congratulations on your EV6 First Edition! #2991 might be a build sequence including all other EV6s worldwide. Yes, it's silly they don't mention when the other models will be available. I still don't know what the IONIQ 5 will cost me either. If it's going to end costing as much as a FE EV6, I'll wait for the less expensive upcoming Tesla model.I was hoping that when the reservation opened, there would be info on the other models as well - not really interested in the First Edition. Just tried going back on the site and it is now closed reopening next Tuesday with "hundreds of EV6 First Editions still available."
On a side note, at the i4 presentation, they mentioned they have been getting "one reservation per minute" since they opened reservations. That sounds impressive until you realize that is less than 1,500 per day (however, they are asking for $1,500 for the reservations).
Still in the darkBumping this thread - curious if our American friends here have heard of anything from their pre-orders?
