Thanks. Here is mine expirence. I have EV2022 with upadate from december 2022. The preheating should work. I was starting navigation to DC charging station about 20 min before reaching it. On highway with 120/130 km/h (sorry Europe ;) ) speed, tempertur about 0 celcius degree. Charging speed start about 60 kwh , then maybe went up to 70-80 kWh. On the same charging point in summer / spring , the same car, it was 200 kwh. So it was disappointing for me. Maybe car needs more time for preheating. And I can not use on the same time car Nav and Apple CarPlay - google. When I start google maps then it cancel car Nav.
Nothing to do with when you updated your infotainment software. It's the build date of the vehicle. Most 22 models do not have preheating - only the last month or so of that model year (july/august?).
You can tell if you have preconditioning on your car as it will have a Preconditioning Option in the menus, instead of Winter Mode. Also when you navigate to the charger and the preconditioning is heating the battery, a little snowflake icon appears in the battery level indicator on the bottom left of the speedometer screen. MY23 models this changes to a little red squiggly line.
I've reverted to using Bluetooth audio/In car Nav. Android Auto is nice, but the occasional dropout makes it unusable. Android Auto is a great replacement for all the shitty infotainment/nav software that comes with many cars, but actually the EV6 one is pretty decent.

Nothing to do with when you updated your infotainment software. It's the build date of the vehicle. Most 22 models do not have preheating - only the last month or so of that model year (july/august?).
You can tell if you have preconditioning on your car as it will have a Preconditioning Option in the menus, instead of Winter Mode. Also when you navigate to the charger and the preconditioning is heating the battery, a little snowflake icon appears in the battery level indicator on the bottom left of the speedometer screen. MY23 models this changes to a little red squiggly line.

So that’s why I was counting that update will help. For me is clear “disinformation”…

It's more a case of Kia Global, UK, EU and US not having much of a clue and not supporting the dealer network correctly. There will (people hope) be a global rollout of a "software" update to fix this.
There are 2 types of update. The infotainment/nav update and a dealer only "drivetrain" update as I would call it. In Norway this has already been rolled out to dealers, but I think customers have to pay a small fee. Other countries are waiting still. Poland will probably be last :oops:

Interesting to see this, as this was a major contributor to why I cancelled a MY22 order even though the car was in the country.

Kia have different official answers on preconditioning coming to the 22 and I just couldn’t take this risk especially when the cost savings were vaporising by the day.

I really feel for anyone with a 22 as Kia have badly let them down after advertising 18 minutes but not offering the update everywhere.

Here's an interesting update to my experience. 9 degrees C, under 15 percent battery. Preconditioning did not activate on the way to the Ionity charger. I guess for battery saving reaons (or maybe the battery was deemed warm enough). 15 to 80 took 31 minutes. I had a chat with a chap charging and ID3 for 5 mins and then had to wolf down my Maccy Ds! I was worried it was going to take a lot longer, so it seems like the preconditioning only has a big effect in freezing weather.

You got about 100KW per H charging over the 30mins

Car serviced, and updated, apparently. I should now have the preconditioning option, but have I? How can I tell they've done the update? And if I have, how does the preconditioning work, how would I use it?

Still in winter mode, obviously haven't updated it, and also a dent in the door... Not a very successful visit to Kia!

Only needs a little top-up as we're traveling in the early hours, but will, 30 mins to full?

I'm out of the country next week so will have to pick it up with them on my return.

Hi,
Just to inform you how i get upgrade.
I did it at the beginning of March but maybe it was earlier available I’m not sure. In Poland.
But I needed to request for it. It wasn’t like they gave this upgrade with regular maintenance. I needed to ask for it, and I needed to pay for it extra. What was for the surprise for me. But now I have it like someone already described it.
