Replaced my 12 v, and learned something

I tried to start my 2022 Niro EV three days ago before a little road trip, and saw a completely black dashboard and screen. I got out my Noco jump starter and used it for the first time. Car started fine, but we took the Prius Prime on the road trip.

I did the math and figured out that the car (with its 12 v battery) was four years old, so I bought a new battery today and changed it out. Very easy. The guy at Interstate Batteries said the usual life is 3-5 years.

As I was proudly showing my wife my handiwork, she said, “Maybe that’s the reason why your car has been deleting your charging schedule the past few months.”

Duh. Of course it was. Now I know that whenever my charging-schedule settings go away, it’s probably time for a new 12 v.

I learn something new every day.

Well...... mu charging schedule got wiped out every now and then during the first year I had the car. The 12V though kept working fine. I think it's not related.
