If I was deciding today which car to buy, I'd buy the model y performance over my ev6. In June '22 when I bought my wind w/ tech package it was 54k with the 7.5k fed rebate. 54k is the new price for Y performance and it has 7.5k rebate! I'm still very happy with the ev6, so I'm not selling or anything like that.

the price difference between the US and Canada is very odd.
The top AWD trims of the EV6, Ioniq5, ID4 are still 7k less than a Model Y AWD and when you add in the 5k dollar govt rebate offered to the other brands, I’m not sure the Model Y will entice people to dump their reservations. But then again, the other brands aren’t sending cars to Canada so maybe Tesla will steal those people waiting.

very good point.

It really has been crazy watching Tesla prices spike so quickly over the past couple yrs. I think in the bigger picture consumers are finally figuring out that Tesla isn’t the be all, end all of EVs and their prices can and will be discounted. Once that mystique is gone I’d say prices could fall even more. As you said, this isn’t a deal relative to its competitors.

It also sends the message that the EV sector isn’t immune to downturns in the economy

exactly same situation/timing/car as me. The Model Y Performance, as I like it, is still just over 60K; but I probably would have stretched a bit to get the performance version.

Nope. This is just 2021 pricing before he went mad increasing the prices multiple times. It’s just erasing the recent price increases.

For $70k CAD, I’d rather have the GV60 Advanced. Or save $6.5k and buy my EV6 GT-L Pkg 2 plus an additional $5k EV rebate (so $11.5k total)

Tesla's have buttons. How else do you get in and out of the vehicle, and roll the windows down, lock doors, and open doors to get out lol. Oh and to open teh center console lol.

Legacy automakers aren't making money on EV's yet. I don't think they have the profit margin to get into price wars.

I wouldn't buy a Tesla, and had made the decision to go with a different EV soon after the Model 3 came out. My considerations: (a) the extensive and sole use of a touchscreen rather than dedicated buttons in the Tesla design, and (b) the poor reliability rating given by Consumer Reports.

Regardless of which car you are hot to buy, don't be stupid and tell the dealer you hate Tesla. Tell them you are going to test drive the Model Y and 3. This huge price drop is going to put a lot of pressure on OEMs to make deals. They might not drop the price but they may offer a much better int rate and residual. The economy is slowing, Tesla is showing they are seeing big demand drop for their cars.... take advantage.

Going to take my EV6 to some Kia dealers today and if I get a good price will sell it. Will most likely look to order a performance model Y. Hard to pass up at these prices and delivery in February. Will get the tax credit for the EV6, but would not get another tax credit with any EV due to income limit so that does not figure into my decision. Hard to pass on a 13k price reduction.

If anyone is interested in a EV6 First Edition in Dallas Fort Worth area, delivered in March 2022 with 4500 miles and with front PPF and ceramic pro. Always garaged and never driven in the rain, message me.

The prices were close but not quite this good. In January 2022 I ordered a LR MY with 20 inch wheels and tow hitch and it was 62k. I just configured a Performance MY with tow hitch and it is right at 60K.

Nope, never considered a Tesla to begin with..Main reason is the ipad glued to the dash..I don't want to have to take my eyes off the road to make every little adjustment to my car or to even see what speed I'm going and besides not being safe, it's also very ugly. Love the HUD and steering wheel controls, rarely if ever, when driving, do I have to take my eyes off the road. Also as someone else mentioned, the QC isn't the best, so that is also a big strike against them. Then also add to the fact it lookslike a big white egg rolling down the street, no thanks. They do have the charger network going for them, but eventually the others will be caught up and will surpass Tesla as more and more non telsas get sold.
