Just had a call from my dealer, they have the exact model I ordered (GT Line S) in White and I'm booked in for this Tuesday for 1 hour.

Actually really looking forward to it. Sadly I'm changing the order from Matt Grey to White and will push back delivery a bit.

Anything I should test that you all want me to look out for? I'll add it to my list.

Hi
That’s great news that the demonstrators are starting to filter through. I have ordered exactly the same spec in white however I have an issue of a wife not liking it even though she hasn’t seen the car in the flesh yet. It is true the car looks a lot better than in the pictures. Would it be possible to post some pictures inside and out which also catches the sunroof as I think it’ll look even better with the sunroof fitted which I haven’t seen yet. I would be much appreciated if you could do this. Also if I can’t convince her, you can have my order if it’ll get it to you quicker, I’ve been quoted Feb or March delivery.

I spoke to my dealer on Sat. They get their demonstrator this week and will call me asap to fix a test drive. They have offered to let me take it away for the day so I'll be planning a good range of driving conditions 😁

enjoy your test drive! The car is amazing, I've driven a few last week (base model RWD and GT-Line AWD). There are couple of flaws, but they don't bother me that much. Overall, the EV6 is a fantastic car and I'm looking forward to receive mine hopefully in Q1/2022 :)

In Eco mode, the AWD model operates in RWD.

Does that mean regen is only done by the rear motor only?

Can the EV6 regen from both motors in Normal or Sport mode?
And if so, is it more beneficial to drive in normal or sport mode in mountainous driving to take advantage of stronger regen from both motors?

See the below video review.... he shows (a significant amount of) regen from high speeds, and the in-dash display indicates regen from both axles. He does also show how the display indicates that only the rear axle is active in eco mode, but I can't remember if he brakes while in eco mode...

EDIT: I just scanned through the video, and I can't find the part that I remember. Maybe I've mixed up a couple of different reviews (I've watched so many). But I do remember a review where they show the front axel kicking in during regen. The youtuber ponders whether or not the additional regen offsets the efficiency loss of adding the front motor.

Thanks! I do remember watching this one and he said he got 230kW of regen and that the first time he slowed down, it was all regen via i-Pedal; he didn’t have to touch the brake. That is impressive. He does seem to know the the front motor can be disconnected. (either in this video or the other one he made on the first drive).

But yeah I haven’t seen a video that specifically mentions whether regen differs between drive mode I’m guessing some may not even know that Eco mode is RWD only so they may not pay attention to that detail.

I ask this because one of the VW ID.4 video mentioned that they noticed a difference in braking between the RWD and AWD ID.4 under regen braking (not sure if it was AoA for Redline Reviews on the AWD ID.4).

Gordi555, yes, please! Could you check to see whether the GT Line S has some sort of garage door opener built-in (Homelink here in the US). I have a US-market First Edition on order which I understand is close to the GT Line S trim level but I was told by my dealer here that the First Edition MAY not have it. Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

I enquired here in the UK about a garage door opener however it is not available in GT Line S
