We had a 2022 EV6 that got totaled by our insurance company. We paid full price for it in October os 2022 and only got to drive it 16K miles before the accident happened. My insurance company is looking at the current market value of the AWD tech package Wind and is only going to give us @31K for it.
It's still sitting disassembled at the body shop where it was determined by an adjuster that it was too damaged to repair. The adjuster from the insurance company asked me what I wanted to do with the car.
I suppose the easiest thing to do is to let it go to auction for parts.
But that battery has got to be worth thousands of dollars and in a sense we own it. Is there any company or salvage organization that would handle the battery safely and want to obtain it for some reason? I suppose using it in conjunction with a home a 77.4 kW Lithium Ion battery could be used for back up power somehow for someone smarter than me to use. Probably taking it out of the car - including getting the cooperation of everyone involved - wouldn't be worth the hassle. Anyone have any comments except to tell me "dream on"?
