The first edition cars are just that, they will not be offered for sale once they are sold out. When the standard cars are out, they will have the normal designations common to KIA vehicles. LX, EX, S, GT line and GT. There will be no need to pre-order, you can just go to the dealer, pick one out test drive and purchase. It may seem like these new EVs have some sort of special ordering process but they do not. It’s just a way to build hype around the launch, while offering some features that are normally on the upper (GT or SX-L from the Optima line or Stinger GT2) trim vehicles.
Those in the know realize the price and options will be less than the GT but with the options you would only get on the GT. Things like cooled front seats, heated rear seat as and steering wheel, surround view cameras and the blind spot cameras. Those are normally reserved for the top trim vehicles, knowing KIA, there will probably be an EV6 GT, GT1 and GT2. The price for the top trip will probably in the $60K+ region, before incentives.
