I’ve installed hitches myself on three of my past vehicles, but this time I decided to just have the dealer do it since my car was in to replace a dead cellular radio/modem module.

I did receive the receiver 😅and took it to the dealership. I reviewed the instructions, and didn’t think to scan them for sharing here - sorry. It read to be pretty straightforward. I didn’t read the wiring module though, just the hitch.

Is the applique really necessary?

The appliqué isn’t related to the hitch, so no. It’s some xpel-like material for the top of the loading/bumper when the rear lift gate is open.

My dealer had no clue how to install the hitch on the EV9 Wind Trim. They left the underside cover completely disconnected. I had to bring it back in and they called Kia corporate to walk them through it. Before and after the fix.

Also they charged me $600 for labor after quoting $500. Not too happy about that.

Thanks. But my dealer also ask for 2.5 hours for the hitch and 1 hour for the harness install.

Could you maybe post a picture (with a ruler), or maybe the invoice with the hitch size. My dealer called KIa parts and they said KIA only makes a 1 1/4" Class 2 hitch. Thanks.
