Haven't seen this posted on here yet (apologies if it has been!)...

While it's sad to see - and the owner must be gutted! - I'm really impressed by how well the EV6 stood up to being rear-ended at the claimed 45mph (if that was the speed).

The fact that it was driveable and no apparent driver injuries is a good sign for how well built the car is (he even says that the car barely moved from stationary!).

Didn't burst into flames, either

Very sad to see, but amazing that there was not more damage! Hopefully the guy responsible's insurance will cover a complete full repair!

This makes me sad too and this is my biggest nightmare buying a new car. I read something that now insurance companies will also pay you for reduced resale value because the car has been in an accident. I'll have to Google and educate myself how that works just out of curiosity.

No way that was 45 MPH at time of impact. Maybe before the impact when the other guy started slowing down. 45 MPH is enough to crumple both cars and pop all of the airbags. Its a helluva whallop.

Maybe the emergency automatic braking of the other car kicked in assuming it has it but there wasn't enough distance to stop in time.
