Hey everyone, ordered a AWD GT Pack 1 in Mid April 2022 (Kia West) and was told about 6 months wait. My buddy ordered same one in March before the portal closed and got it in Mid Aug 2022.

Was also told the base AWD and RWD models will come faster than Gt Pack 1 or 2 and stats from here confirm that production is getting more restrained than not.: Kia EV6 Wholesale Shipments In September 2022 Amounted To 6,109

My sales guy is now telling me end of 2022 or early 2023, but from asking around (Other 2 Kia dealerships, sales manager/Reddit) it seems the wait is now til 2024. I can confirm that Kia Canada has told dealerships 2024, but anyone else experiencing earlier wait times or been told shorter wait times then what it actually is?

Thanks.

The only ones whose wait times are shorter are those who ordered before April (before the ordering portal was closed) and those that have LR RWD/AWD or GT-L 1 orders. It seems like there are some that are still waiting on GT-L 2 with March orders (based on the Facebook group).

Given that the portal is still not opened and someone here mentioned that Brantford Kia has 300 deposits for the EV6 (and that's just one dealership), I suspect the 2023s (however many there are), will be spoken for when the portal opens (and I hope, given that you placed your deposit in April, that Kia West will enter you in early).

I noticed tonight that the Kia.ca web site is now showing the 2023 EV6 up on the website to spec out with the pricing, etc so they must have done this in the last day as I've been checking quite regularly for updates. I know Brantford Kia posted a YT video showing VPOG pricing/ordering for the EV6 about 2 weeks ago and a few days ago they did the EV6 GT as well so I suspect they are going to open up orders soon and ramping up.

They did preorders in Oct 2021 for the 2022 models and you could officially order them on Dec 9, 2021 but they didn't have the VPOG at the time according to Peter from Brantford Kia at the time (he has since left the dealer to pursue personal YT channel).

Seems likely they will follow same model this year and maybe open orders sooner (hopefully). I've been on the wait list since beginning of June so hopefully I'm one of the first 2023 orders to go in and get it in the spring.

I looked at the Inside EVs link above and it shows the number of models declining but perhaps that's because they are ramping up for 2023 as they are probably clearing the backlog of 2022 models they had to deliver.

I noticed they reduced the choices for colors, probably to help streamline production and reduce wait times and options. Hopefully it does come in earlier! Thanks for the info and fingers crossed for us!

When we ordered our GT line 2 two months ago, we were told wait times were two years. We followed up with Kia Canada and received a reply a couple of weeks ago that: "depending on the trim, for the EV6 wait times is longer than a year, not two years, maybe 18 months."

Hopefully that means they can see or are anticipating production to increase and supply issues to slowly wane.

After waiting 8 months for my RWD EV6 I decided to light a fire under the dealer. I found two cars about four hours from here on the EV Finder website. I told my ordering dealer I was going to buy one of the two I found. Within 24 hours they found me a car. They just needed a little push.

yeah unfortunately they make more RWD than the AWD especially the GT packs, hopefully the US not getting the rebates = more for Canada, but doens't seem to be the case. I talked to my buddy's buddy who is a sales manager at KIA and they still think around 18 months for a delivery.

I am just back from Palm Springs. I test drove a EV6 and a Niro EV. I was very impressed. I could of bought either of them that day and they were willing to give me a deal on the Niro EV.

Back in Alberta the dealership want a deposit and I may get it in two years with no guarantee of no having a price increase.
What's happening here is wrong.

I am shocked we are still in a situation where people are still waiting here in Canada. The US banking sector is in crisis, inflation is still very high, interest rates aren't pivoting, Kia US lost their rebates.... and people aren't cancelling their orders??? Is the whole buying a BEV a do or die thing for people? It's that important? Who's paying 8-9% loan lease rates?

I would just warn people that the banking sector issue is really a canary in a coal mine. They need to fix this situation quickly or we are going to see a very hard landing for the economy.

I am reading on the VW ID4 forum that dealers are getting a lot of cancelled orders maybe because they dropped the heat pump.
