Electrical Glitches: Dealer has no idea; Dealer support does not return Service Dept’s calls!
Like in a number of other posts in EV Issues and Solutions, I get the Check EV System and Check AWD/FWD warnings. These seem to display at
every vehicle start
when the car is newly recharged and gradually taper off as the amount of charge goes down.
The Eugene, OR dealer had it for two days soon after purchase. Could not find a problem; told me that they had called Dealer Support and were waiting for a reply. I picked up the car and told them to call me when they had a possible solution. No call from them. A few weeks later, per Service, they still had head nothing. They had it again for the Integrated Charging Control Unit and Vehicle Control Unit service campaign ‘fixes”.
NOPE.
Meanwhile, I did talk to Kia Customer Support and asked if this could be escalated to second level technical. Was told
Kia will not do anything until the car has sat at the dealer lot for at least TEN DAYS!
To summarize:
- Eugene Kia Dealer cannot find problem.
- Dealer Support does not get back to dealer service dept.
- Kia will do nothing unless I let it sit on the back lot for a couple of weeks.
I guess I will just put up with this irritation on what is otherwise, a good car. Sigh.
