Just back from a EV6 experience In Worcestershire UK.
Got to view and sit in a prototype EV6 Gt line trim in Matt Grey.
its a wonderful car and I ain’t going to cancel my gt line S AWD as
the hands on and close up just confirmed my decision to purchase.
sorry no fotos as I left my mobile in the car..
The demos will arrive in about 3 weeks Time.

Talked to the chief know it all on the EV6 and he confirmed to me that the EV6 will NOT have wireless carplay or Android. Only cabled versions. He told me that he has had that confirmation from Kia HQ directly.

This is 100% how I understand it to be.
It wasn't mentioned in any release documents from what I saw, would be nice to have. It is a bit slower to accept changes when playing music however, the maps seem to work fine on the e tron. I figure this will come later. It's interesting they decided to go with the Meridian sound system for that car, while the GV60 is getting Bang and Olusfen. I liked how the Lexicon system performed in previous Genesis vehicles and the Stinger. The B&O system is decent in the e tron but I felt the system in the Stinger was pretty good for an in car system.

I think the Hyundai group is working on getting the wireless CarPlay and Android auto sorted for future release, as it is also not listed as available on the GV60.
20:20 min in.
Think maybe he got it wrong....?

More than likely. I’ve not seen one person test it yet and I think they’ve been told not to.
Hi. Only USB in France.
We can hope an update...

Back in 2020, the kia Niro had wireless Android auto and apple carplay. I'm guessing, it will come to the EV6 as well.

In this video, kia official shows the Wireless funktion in another kia.

The wireless AA/ACP function only works on the 8" screen and OS. The software on the 10-12" screens are not compatible with the wireless function.
Ohhh...

Maybe I'm just silly, but i hope it comes in a later OTA. For wireless to work, there must be Bluetooth and wifi present, and i think both are present in the EV6, so i hope all the tech is there, just the software missing

Fingers crossed 🤞
To me it does not make sense to have wireless charging and wired apple Carplay "working" at the same time.
But think you're right W07FF, - hope they fix it in a software update later on.

I do find it disappointing that vehicles being released in 2022 don't have this already. I can only hope the hardware is in fact there and a software update (OTA being preferable) happens to bring it to us. That said, I know of a solution at least for Android Auto, though I suspect a Carplay one exists as well.

AAWireless is something I began to look at getting for my Bolt since I am sick of using the finicky cable solution. I love Android Auto and having Waze and my music app in use, just hate the damn cable use. So, I put in an order for this and it looks like Jan 2022 will align nicely with getting it and having it for when the EV6 can be bought.

I just love the fact that, with all of the possibilities for things to not like about a car today, the only gripe is something minor like plugging a cable in. LOL

Well, if you use it daily you might understand the frustration of the disconnect occurring with the cable. My Bolt has it and I love using AA, but the cable just can be finicky and it is 2021 now. I only have a criticism on the EV6 (and Ioniq 5) that they are not coming with something that others (Mach E anyone?) do. At the same time, I do offer a solution for those of us wanting to go wireless and not screw with the dang cable. Be able to use that wireless charging pad even. I'm just glad there is a solution and it's being provided and shipping. Look forward to using it.

Obviously they have not tested this with the Kia EV6 but this model gets rave reviews from 9to5Mac, CNET, etc in long-term testing (https://9to5mac.com/2021/09/20/carplay-to-wireless-carplay-adapter/) https://amzn.to/3abYo0w

I personally don't mind plugging a cable in - especially since most car wireless chargers I have seen only support 7.5 not 15w for iPhones - even though 12 and up can do 15W.
It seems that since other Kia’s offer wireless CarPlay that it should included.

It's only available on the 8" screen and software. The EV6 only comes with the wide screen and the new OS that isn't wireless capable.

There are gadgets available that plug direct into thew USB slot and mimic the wired function to the iPhone and then you can use wireless charging, functionality of it being wired via a bluetooth connect to the said gadget.
I'm very surprised Kia have not resolved this in such an expensive car
