Battery conditioning

Hi, first time contributor here ...

Am generally very happy with my new EV3, but a few things are bothering me about the clarity of information in the app and interface.

I have only had to charge the car once since collection but, when I look in the app (Status) it says all the time that "Battery conditioning is recommended".

My understanding is that this is only something that needs to be done immediately before charging. Is that the case or is this something that should be done 'pre drive'?

Just before I planned to charge the car at home (and while driving), I activated the battery conditioning in the "EV" area of the settings (which in itself was a little silly as, once you press "activate" the button still remains pressable) but, despite still having close to 10 minutes of driving time while this was activated, the battery temperature remained low.

Wouldn't it make sense for Kia to show how long it will take to get the battery up to temperature? Does anybody here know how much time you should factor in if activating this manually?

Also, is conditioning necessary if you're planning to charge at home and are not in a rush?

Thanks in advance.

Further to the thoughts above, does anybody know if it's possible to see the battery temperature on the main display (and thus know whether it needs conditioning ahead of charging or not).

Having had the EV3 for a few months now, I only need to charge at a public charger for the first time recently. I know that if you put a charging point as a destination, it should condition automatically. As I approached the charging station, I didn't see any indication that the battery was conditioning, so had to go into the Settings Menu and press 'activate', only to be told that the temperature was adequate and so I didn't need to do anything.

However, surely it should be simpler than me having to go into a menu and press 'activate' to see if the battery is the right temperature or not.

Am I missing something?

That’s good to know and is in keeping with my original understanding.
Despite being happy with the car itself, I’m finding quite a few weak spots in the digital experience.

It would be mighty helpful if there were a little ‘?’ or ‘i’ on this screen to explain what you just did. The text offered up currently isn’t really useful (doesn’t explain that this is only for charging purposes)

I can imagine it could be concerning for many users to see this message in their app.
