Just bought and going to try it out. Found a few installs online and comments doing it this way. Buiit in short circuit so no need for fuse.

From this video the wiring looks like it needs pin 1 and 2 or 3. I'll check which is positive.

 

Hi, I used one last September. I accessed the fuses and found one live with Ignition on, only one pin though. Not a problem as I used step down's own Black wire to make an earth. Ran wires up around windscreen and connected by side of rear view mirror. Still working. If you want a permanent live you should find one easily, and use a 'piggy back'. 👍

 

This worked perfectly. Tapped into the red and black wires. Easiest dash cam install ever. That dongar harness would be easier but why spend all that.
