EV6 not charging at Tesla charging station

Recently I received the NACS Adapter from KIA. I installed the Tesla app and filled out all fields that were available for the set-up (credit card info, vehicle info. I selected the "Yes" button for the question "Does your vehicle have a ... NACS DC Adapter". Yesterday I tried to charge the car at a Tesla charger nearby and .... it did not want to charge the car. Other cars, both Tesla and non-Tesla were charging without problems. The following alarm text was displayed:
"Unknown Error Occurred, Your vehicle is not able to charge at Superchargers".
There are no non-Tesla supercharger nearby to test whether supercharging would work there. Has anyone else had this problem? What could be the cause?

Not open to Kia yet... bummer. The App is gaslighting you. Works for Ford, Chevy, and a few others. Seems to be one company every couple months.

Some, like you, are hoping it is any day. March is the promised month which was moved from the initial Jan 15th date.

The 1st thing our EV6s need is a software update for Navigation... nothing yet.

Update required? Unknown. Navigation update will be required for pre-conditioning to function *unless tricking the system by choosing another close DCFC station.

I did a brief test on in January when we were tricking the Tesla App. Nothing but the Tesla App and an adapter. Was very quick to start charging. So my EV6 just charged like at EA.

The Kia Connect App might also be updated so we can pay through it. That's also an unknown.

It's been a very stupid rollout. No new press releases from Kia either.

Maybe Kia should have included a note when shipping out the adapters in informing recipients to not use the adapters until after official notice has been sent out stating that Tesla Supercharger locations are now open to Kia EV drivers--that way we don't continue to see multiple posts about how "I received my NACS adapter and tried it at a Tesla SC location but it doesn't work"... /s ;)

yep, because it's not enabled for KIA's yet, even though our architecture is shared. I've even reached out to Tesla directly while at a supercharger the day after they turned off access after the "hyundai in the tesla app workaround" and they said that it was correct they disabled access until sometime in March.... now we are almost halfway through march... lol. Since i was traveling and the area i was in only had superchargers and 2 ea chargers that were farther away from where i was staying and one of them was completely down for upgrades it would have been handy.

I don't if this article is true... if true, it might not help Kia's gain access faster.

Tesla is STILL not listing Kia and Hyundai on their non-Tesla supercharger page (link below). Since Musk fired so many people in that unit last year it is hard to know if they have just not updated the web page, or if they are slow to enable their Superchargers to accept Kia and Hyundai EVs - or who knows.

It would be nice to know if they are available, but unless you find one of the still rather rare gen 4 SuperChargers that can handle 800 volt EVs, you will most likely have a slow charging experience. Only Tesla gen 2, 3 and 4 superchargers will work. Older Gen 1's wont.

I tried it a couple of days ago and it did not work (even tho the Tesla app shows the Superchargers such as Version 3 available for my EV6). The app is apparently ahead of reality.....

A person posted in the below Reddit link that they recently were able to charge their EV6 at a SC location using a NACS adapter:

EV6 charging using NACS adapter worked at SC location?

The person claims that they were using the adapter (rather than using a MagicDock-equipped SC) just this past Saturday; what do you folks think--a one-off occurrence at that particular location or the person may have confused having used an adapter with having utilized a MagicDock-equipped SC?

I need charging at TSC for an off-the-beaten path road trip the first week of April (or I have to take the PHEV since the GT doesn't have the range to make it to a DCFC, especially if it gets cold then) so it would be helpful to know which TSC will be open to us. If I set Ford as my vehicle in the Tesla app, should it show the same chargers that we anticipate being open for HMG mobiles?

Kia is to blame for lots of things.
1) inability to give first adopters the updates we ask for (like pre-conditioning button)
2) not acknowledging the first adopters of their EVs who helped them get the Kia EV name out by not offering free adapters like every other manufacturer
3) not accepting fault for the ICCU mess (hardware issue, attempted now three times to be solved with software) and the charge port overheating
4) having Tesla turn off SC access until enough folks buy Kia's inadequate (and potentially deadly) adapter

Here in Sebastopol CA a new G4 SC came online about a month ago. I tried charging there 2 weeks ago but no go. The app let me select a charger and instructed me to plug in my adapter but it would not initiate charging session. As a side note, these G4 SC appear to have the NACS-CCS adapter built in but do not yet “undock” them.

Way out of left field speculation on my part as to why we're not yet allowed to charge at SC stations using NACS adapter--if/when Tesla eventually allows us HMG EV owners to charge at SC locations, I promise you there will be a bunch of folks flooding the forums with posts asking as to why they are not getting 200+ kW charging speeds or even 150+ kW speeds while charging at SC locations...or simple questions asking as to why is it taking much longer to DCFC charge their vehicles when using a SC. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if HMG is drawing up some sort of document that explains in layman's terms as to why a HMG EV owner should not expect to see 100+ kW charging speeds so that they don't start complaining about how come they're not seeing the fast DCFC speeds HMG so proudly advertises in their EV literature.

And other chargers (e.g Lectron) are rated at 500A / 1000V which sure seems like a better spec..ironic that OEM goes for lesser...
Cheaper.

The box in which the KIA adapter came indicates "350A / 1,000V". Based on that, it could be used for charging at an 800V charger and would then deliver 280 kW.
It will deliver the same 240kW max the car is capable of, no more.

The goalposts that are moving is the ability to use the Kia connect app to charge at superchargers, not your ability to charge there. It is very likely that once Kia and Tesla approve the Kia connect app, or whatever Kia is doing to get approval, may work without it. But it’s all conjecture for now until it actually happens.
