This is also my first OTA update. I've been doing it via USB. I waited a month after the last release was distributed, but never got the OTA so updated it by USB. I didn't even realize we had anything new out and it just updated all by itself much to my surprise. It went quickly and smoothly. Hopefully, they are getting their ish together with this.

I'm hoping that as well.

That is interesting. Is it possible you beat it to the punch? IOW, downloaded and installed the updates manually before it could bug you? If not it sounds inconsistent to say the least.
Full disclosure--I have installed every previously-released update via USB so yes technically I would have beat it to the punch, as you put it; at the same time however, @dc30307 indicated that they had received an OTA update for a version that was already installed on their vehicle (via USB), so who knows what the deal is when it comes to OTAs. Not that I miss it by any means... ;)

Ah ha!

No idea why, but it seems like they flooded the market with this one. So many people claiming that this is the first OTA update they’ve ever gotten. Only thing I can think of is that it’s a prerequisite for the next version.

Welcome!

I had the same question. Unfortunately, based on various inputs here and on FB, Reddit, etc., it appears our EV6s are not capable of wireless Car Play or Android Auto due to hardware limitations. More here:

Only time will tell. In the meantime there are numerous wireless adapters that work very well though. I've been using this one and it works perfectly (there are similar adapters for Android Auto):

If you use the search feature at the top of every page you'll find a number of threads discussing options.

Hope that helps!
I use this dongle as well. Starts each time my phone is in the car, no lag, no problems. Bought one for my wife’s hybrid Highlander and it works fine there too.

And FWIW, I still haven't received the current update. Technically I shouldn't, since I'm only on "Plus", but lack of "Ultimate" hasn't prevented some of you from getting it. But I'm ok with that. It seems that many of the updates that come out get quickly pulled for whatever reason then later re-released, and I have had issues with installing early in the past. I'm good with waiting a bit. I don't use the built-in NAV, and so far there's not been any changes in previous releases I've felt have been important to have right away.

The update popped up on my screen when I pulled into my driveway late Wednesday evening. I just turned the car off, plugged to charge, and went inside. Yesterday when I got in, at some point, I don’t remember when, I got a message that it had completed successfully. Like others, just Performance Enhancement.

This is the 2nd OTA I’ve gotten. All other updates were installed manually.

Since so many have gotten the OTA, maybe Kia has started getting it together. However, this one appears to have been rather small compared to the 30GB+ of the manual updates, or they’ve gotten better at OTAs, so maybe that’s why it was easier to push out and so many have gotten it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

AFAIK there's no way to know an OTA file size, but the downloaded files for the April 16 2024 update total 49.3GB. The OTA installation may be able to skip duplicate files though, so it could well be "smaller".

It added 10hp to your car. Mine said “Performance Improvement”
Ours updated OTA to this version on 4/30, although it was listed prior to the download as an "Audio Update". We immediately noticed about a 3-4 dB boost in bass level. Since we have an aftermarket (Blaupunkt) powered sub, don't know how noticeable this might be with the stock unit. How did you determine that this is related to a HP tweak?

It's a joke. Our OTA updates don't have any drivetrain improvements. After the 20th post of "What was improved?" AND not reading anything previous in this thread... I just lost it.

If I get any more HP in my GT, I'll be on a YouTube crash video. Like all of the Stangs. My GT gets very squirrelly when I'm giving it the juice and just a little turn. Or if stupidly press on the accelerator in Normal mode, then press the GT button.

OK---Good One! I was wondering if the bass boost was a remarkable coincidence, if we were imagining it, or if there was something else going on here.

Hadn’t noticed that with ours, but other than adding sound deadener to the sub’s “cave”, it’s a stock Meridian system.

Did you get the last update (post December 15, 2023) that boosted audio volume - by quite a bit - as well as a few other changes? Just wondering if you didn’t if that’s what you’re hearing.

Upon receiving the update today OTA, all radio presets vanished, and some alerts (e.g.- charging) reverted to Email vs. app notification. No biggie, and no other inconveniences noted. FWIW, the Meridian system sounds great in my GT.

We've installed all of the previous updates. This is not an overall volume/level boost. Only affects the low bass. The passive sub in the stock Meridian systems may not be capable of much improvement, despite now apparently being driven harder. We would have to re-install ours to test, and this is too much trouble at this stage to investigate.
We haven't observed any other changes with this update. BTW, our EV6GTL build date is 03/22.

Good to know. Thanks!
