Actually it's pretty much in line with what I thought it was going to cost until I saw the American prices first. I think the American prices are very much out in left field esp given it's not going to get their 7500 dollar rebate. This makes me think that the EV5 pricing for Canada is going to be very aggressive. ie well under the EV6.

I have 1 of the 500 online reserved spot for the EV9 last august of the first canadian batch to arrive.
I Reserved an Land Premium; i was almost going to cancel, because the Chevy Blazer EV 2LT is a much better priced for me. 59999-12000QC= 48000+tax.

I live in quebec; so, my tax subsidies, if qualify is - 12000CAD.
So, with all in all, land premium cost: 67,971CAD; with tax, 78,150CAD.... that's good price right?
GTline is 4000$ more, it would be a better equipped, but there's a few thing i wouldn't want.
  • Large wheels... cost more in tire replacement and winter sets.
  • Less range (Because heavier electric chairs and fold and unfold, raise roof bar...)
  • black alcantara ceiling.... (I don't like it, it's too dark).
The only thing that I will pay for extra is the RSPA2. (Apparently it shall cost 10$/mo, 100$/yr, or 500$ outright).
I don't think HUD and extra electric chairs are that pratical.... plus, there will be more thing to break.

But our Canadian GTLine gets the rear self leveling, my Land Premium won't have.

In terms of the wheels , is it exclusive? Meaning can I buy any other non Kia wheels?

The range reduction isn't that much between premium vs GTL right?

I didn't make the reservation list but i put a deposit down back in Jan with my local Kia dealer. Luckily they are a new dealership and don't have alot of reservations for the ev9 so there telling me I can expect mine end of this year/early next year.

They want $3k above msrp but are adding ceramic coat, interior protection, mats, trunk tray etc. He's sales pitch was were adding value for the mark up for things we found customers usually get anyways after the sale. Also that other dealers just do a mark up without anything added. You can argue maybe all that is worth $1500 on the high end so there tacking on another $1500.

They also have a $899 doc and a $699 finance fee which is a nice little cash grab too.

I'm not sure what to do. Is it worth it trying to haggle them down considering I don't have to wait long and am most likely going to be getting it sooner then later?

I preordered the Land and am one of the lucky 527 that managed to get a spot. Now that the pricing is out, I would like to upgrade my choice to include the premium package, has anyone had any luck doing that? I am a little afraid that this will somehow give my dealer an out and enable him to charge more than MSRP since it's a "change". I'm in Ontario.

I picked red, and now I regret it. Part of the reason for upgrading would be to be able to get the Ocean Blue :) It's so beautiful!

Looking at what the package offers versus the land without:

-20 inch rims
-differentiated headlights
-laminated glass (front and rear)
-dual sunroof
-digital grill
-auto dimming side mirrors
-memory seats
-captain chairs
-heated and ventilated 2nd row
-driver relaxation seat
-door scuff plates
-rear shades
-electronic tilt and telescope steering wheel
-14 speakers
-mood lighting
-digital rearview mirror
-etc

I would say its worth it

10000$CAD extra seems lot.
However, I would think, kia can actually accomondate another option for land:
  • Land no package
  • Land tech + 5000
  • Land premium +10000
  • Land GTline. + 14000

I think the change from land no pack to premium 10000$ is huge step up.

I'm sure I saw a video with the owner of Brantford Kia saying the 500 allotment was just the initial number but there won't be the same issues the EV6 has had. People need to remember this ain't 2021 or 2022. Tesla dropped their prices, VW just dropped their int rates by 3%. The slowing economy is having its effects now. In the US they're having a real problem with BEVs sitting on lots and the price of the EV9 is quite a bit higher in the US. Plus no 7500 gov't tax rebate.

I think Elon created a craze that was massively fueled by very high oil prices and now the momentum is flipping back to hybrids, and PHEVs. 2024 is a pivotal yr for sure. Whether you hate Tesla or not, they will control the BEV sales and prices throughout next yr. A new Model 3 within a couple months and then the Model Y juniper. I’m fully expecting ID4 sales to get hit hard next yr esp if they raise prices. Dead in the water is a phrase that comes to mind. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see discounts on BEVs next yr.
